Do NOT use a genesis controller with it!!Lokkenjawnz wrote:Nice find! You should be able to use a genesis controller with it (I believe anyways, you might want to double check), and it just uses standard A/V cables. You can burn games for it as well, so you should be set!

Gyromite cart with Import Adapter - $7.00 Swap Meet
I picked up a spare to replace the Gyromite cart that was cannibalized for a Bootleg Cart. The contact pins were hard to see, some wear and corrosion made it hard to spot. I found out another way to identify, the yellow TM logo.
Updated the Gyromite Import Adaptor Guide.

[3.7] Can I use Sega Genesis controllers on my 3DO?
A: NO! And attempting to use a Genesis controller could damage the controller
and/or your 3DO!! You _can_, however, use extension cords for Genesis
controllers on your 3DO controllers to increase the length of the cable.Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Just to clarify, when I said I "really needed to replace the RF box" what I meant was, "The RF switch is bust and a cant find another one nearby so this was the next best choice." And yes, I was sure it was the RF switch. I literally made my friend find and dig out her old Genesis (her brother reluctantly helped) so I could make sure it was the switch and not the system. I'd actually been waiting to just replace the RF switch, but all the stores around here seem Sega deficient in general so I just gave up and bought the AV cord. Thanks to your link I have been looking onto a mod though. I really didn't know it could output S-Video. It doesn't look to to hard to do, but I'm a bit tech-deficient when it comes to such things so I might have to watch a few more Youtube videos before I get up the nerve to try.Ziggy587 wrote:The jump from RF to composite on the Genesis really isn't anything to write home about. The Genesis has horribly blurry and washed composite video. At least you'll be getting stereo audio though, that'll be a huge plus.
PS, if you wanna read about S-Video on the Genesis, here's a recent thread: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... =1&t=33276
Basically, S-Video on the Genesis is absolutely amazing, but you have to modify the console to output S-Video. The good news is, most Genesis consoles use a video encoder that outputs S-Video. You just have to "hook it up" so to speak, so it's not that hard of a mod.

This is the only YouTube video to watch:
Practice soldering using the tips in that vid, then PM me if/when you're ready to do the mod, I'll show ya exactly what to do (not that big of a deal since it's easy as pie).

Yeah I couldn't remember exactly how that was, which is why I told him to look into it. I have to wonder why it would act like that, I wonder what's really different between the controllers.JoeAwesome wrote:Do NOT use a genesis controller with it!!Lokkenjawnz wrote:Nice find! Extension cables, on the other hand, although need to be modified, can be used, but I won't be risking it. Daisy chaining already helps the cords be long enough for what I need.

if it can damage the system then it is most likely the crossing over of power lines (live wires)Lokkenjawnz wrote:Yeah I couldn't remember exactly how that was, which is why I told him to look into it. I'm not trying to give you attitude, but a newbie (or lurker) could see that and attempt it. It's just better to nip potential misinformation in the bud if it could be damaging.Lokkenjawnz wrote:Yeah I couldn't remember exactly how that was, which is why I told him to look into it.
