One of those consoles I quite literally have no interest in. It would just take up space I barely have.

Since I "got into" retro gaming (picking up older games and consoles I didn't already have), this is the only console that I have purchased, played with, and then sold with absolutely zero regrets. It is a waste of a system, and this is coming from someone who frequently praises the 32X. I do not think it is worth buying, and for me it wan't even worth taking up space in a cabinet. You would be much much happier sinking that money into a pricier quality title of another older system.

I don't think it's worth getting at all. As it has been said, most of the good games have better versions somewhere else and I don't think most are that good anyways.

I mean, they are not the best titles around, they are good and if you like them you wil have a lot of fun, I just don't think I would play Gex over the two dozen greater platformers around.

Which version of the 3DO is better. I know people seem to like the look and build quality of the FZ-1 but there is the fact that it needs a memory management disc while the other's like the GoldStar does not. How much of a difference is there between the units.

Most games have a memory manager built into them iirc, so I don't really consider that a good argument. The GoldStar feels and looks really, really cheap, as does the FZ-10.

It does have the best version of Star Control 2, with lots of voice acting, but, the PC version is free and converted for modern computers. http://sc2.sourceforge.net/

It also has the best version of MegaRace.

Also, Ballz3D...
Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo was arcade perfect on the 3DO. How do you get better than that?
Probably with Street Fighter Collection on the Saturn.

I've only played it once, back in the day, an' even then I was not impressed. If you have money you want to spend I'd suggest spending it on something that's actually worthwhile.

I did not know that, would you happen to know what games did have memory managers then, I am thinking of getting Gex and Crash 'n Burn.

I can't think of any games that DON'T give you access to the memory manager! Gex does for sure.

My opinion of the 3DO is that for the prices you can often expect to pay, it's not really worth it. However, I got mine for free, and I certainly wouldnt want to get rid of it. It's got some fun stuff on it, but not really enough to justify it as a major purchase.

I feel pretty much the same about the Atari Jaguar, although I have no experience of that console, I'm just basing my opinion off of the games I have seen for it. I actually think theres more that interests me on the 3DO than the Jaguar.
