The only thing remotely entertaining about that game was the little "beat box" you could play around in.dedalusdedalus wrote:Goddamn, that game sucks. It's a jumbled, confusing fetch quest with clunky-ass controls.Veno wrote:Who else didn't like Toejam and Earl?

You know what else about that game brings my piss to a boil? The fact that the "power-ups" were generally more of a liability than anything else. Like the high-speed sneakers, you put them on and you'd either run right off the board or run into enemies and get damaged.xan_racketBOY_fan wrote:The only thing remotely entertaining about that game was the little "beat box" you could play around in.dedalusdedalus wrote:Goddamn, that game sucks. Re: Classic Games That You Didn't Like?
I don't like:
Most universally recognized bad games.
Super Mario RPG/Paper Mario series: way too simplistic of an RPG for me.
Yoshi's Island.
Xevious.
FFVII/VIII and everything after IX (although only X was made before 2000, iirc)
Most text based adventure games for consoles.
Many of the big name 3D platformer series. Honestly, 3d platformers and I do not get along so well, I've come to realize. Some games are ok, but they need to be way, way more than a collect-a-thon for me to get in to them. Super Mario 64 is perhaps one of the few collect-a-thons I like, but games like Spyro 1 just suck.
Harvest Moon - yuck.
Pokemon series: cannot stand this series or anything like it (e.g. Monster Rancher).
There are more, and many I think are overrated that others love, but I don't necessarily not like them.

Re: Classic Games That You Didn't Like?
Super Mario 64. And no, I'm not trying to be a troll. I really didn't enjoy it. It just didn't feel like a Mario game to me. And I get bored quickly with it. But most of all, I really, really don't like playing through the same levels over and over again. Maybe if I actually progressed to another level as soon as beating one, I might have stuck it out longer and enjoyed the game more.

Punch Out - I dig the aesthetics but I just can't get into the game no matter how hard I try.
Vectorman - This game is a piece of goddamn crap. It made me ill and I returned it to EB for a full refund. I believe it might have been the first game I bought in a cardboard box so that may have had something to do with it. I didn't buy too many Genesis games after they started coming in cardboard boxes. I felt as if the games themselves would be just as frugally cheap as the boxes themselves. Cardboard boxes, seriously? I still cannot get over Sega making that lame-ass switch. I have rectified this these days, though. I own all of the games that came in a paper box, I scan the covers, front, side and back, touched them up n Photoshop and printed my own insert. All games (including 32X) live in plastic cases now. Fuck you Sega, I have defeated your plans.
Donkey Kong Country - I pretty much liked the first one, but part 2 and 3 were just awful. I fell asleep playing part 2.

Re: Classic Games That You Didn't Like?
Yeah, Vectorman clearly sucked because of the cardboard box.
(that was 90% of your rant on that one).
I really can't think of any game to dog on at the moment. But I can't get into Demon's Crest at all. I've tried playing it several times, but it just doesn't do much for me and makes me want to bust out Super Ghouls n' Ghosts and have a blast.
Jurassic Park SNES - I don't hate this game, but anyone who's said they've beaten this legitimately is probably lying. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE!

Sega Jurassic Park is infinitely better than SNES Jurassic Park.Jurassic Park SNES - I don't hate this game, but anyone who's said they've beaten this legitimately is probably lying. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE!
Re: Classic Games That You Didn't Like?
That's an interesting way to put it. But man... the characters MOVE SO SLOWLY! Haha, but seriously that can honestly be kind of a pet peeve of mine in old games. I always hold down run buttons in everything, and if it doesn't have that and characters move slow... it can be bothersome, lol.
I'm nostalgic for Jurassic Park SNES, though I really think it would have been a lot cooler if it didn't have the first person segments. They haven't aged well at all. Would've been cooler if the installations were just like some weird Zelda-esque dungeons and it was all still overhead or something.
The Genesis games are killer though. I dig The Chaos Continues on the SNES as well (this game had amazing music), even though that game... is also practically impossible, lol.

Re: Classic Games That You Didn't Like?
So in the games i can think right now are:
Diddy kong racing; i just can't get hook up with the game, i can see why the game it's fun and stuff for other's but for me... i will pick crash team racing over this one any day.
And other game (god forgive me) golden eye, i mean the game is ok too me because i NEVER have played this game back in the day when i was a kid so i have no emotions or memories attach to the game... i prefer perfect dark it's, in my opinion, WAY better than golden eye, in therms of grafics, gameplay and storyline. (i get stuck on certain level that i can't remember right now).
And Star Wars Shadow of the empire it's a game that i really like but also i really hate, it didn't age well and the camera GOD THAT CAMERA and the movement... if this game can be re-released (with better camera and control) it would be a EXCELLENT GAME.
