I am very wary about the remake too. But I've learned from past movies like this to not really judge until you see it. People were all upset that Spider-Man had organic webshooters, that he was dating Mary Jane before Gwen Stacy, and that Green Goblin's costume was changed. But that movie turned out to be great.

You and I have opposite opinions on movies.BurningDoom wrote: But that movie turned out to be great.
Spider-Man is garbage. The movie has aged horribly, and is completely laughable, and not in the sense of other Raimi movies where they were intended to be that way. There are some good points (JJ was great), but ugh, are they difficult to watch now. The sets are so cheap, and in the scene where Jet Jaguar...I mean the G.Goblin attacks Mary Jane on the balcony I believe you can actually see the styrofoam in the "bricks". And Macy Grey? Why?
Spidey either just jumps into frame when "swinging" or he turns into a cartoon. Kirsten is no MJ, and the movie is MST3K worthy for all of the bad moments. I'd watch the 1989 Batman over the 2001 spider-man any day.
I will say this though; the teaser with the WTC building was one of the coolest teasers I've ever laid eyes on.

1989 Batman was fantastic and anyone who says otherwise is a Communist.Luke wrote: I'd watch the 1989 Batman over the 2001 spider-man any day.

Both movies are fantastic. I've noticed that Luke has complained about nearly every sci-fi/superhero genre movie or TV show I've talk about. I think he's either not a fan of the genre, or has too high of standards about it.MrPopo wrote:1989 Batman was fantastic and anyone who says otherwise is a Communist.Luke wrote: I'd watch the 1989 Batman over the 2001 spider-man any day.
MST3K quality? Come on. You're telling me that Spider-Man belongs in the same catagory as Plan 9 From Outer Space and Billy The Kid vs. Dracula.

Yes. Spider-Man is awful. The movie is so cheesy, but isn't meant to be. It's like watching a fan made film on a really strict budget. I'm not complaining, just stating the obvious.BurningDoom wrote:Both movies are fantastic. I'm a huge fan of the genre, but dude, seriously: You liked THE GREEN LANTERN, which is easily the worst movie of the year. And I'm not talking about Hollywood releases, I'm including indie films as well. It's hard to take anything you post seriously after stating that it was a good movie. I'd rather watch the Oprah interview with that woman who had her face eaten off by an ape than watch GL again. I'm also pretty sure you liked Marvel Presents X-Men:Wolverine Origins and His Past Stories Including Wolverine Wearing Boxing Gloves, so as I stated before, not complaining, I just think you'll like whatever you like just because some of your childhood make believe heroes are in the films.
Sure you're entitled to your opinion, as I like some goofy shit as well, but you like, honesty like these films. Not for how bad they are, you actually like them.
Maybe you and I should just stick to talking about video games, because in all honesty, I can't see we could see eye to eye on movies. Maybe we can both agree that SPAWN was terrible?

Returns was a complete nonsensical mess. Cool atmosphere was all it had going.BurningDoom wrote:Both movies are fantastic.MrPopo wrote:1989 Batman was fantastic and anyone who says otherwise is a Communist.Luke wrote: I'd watch the 1989 Batman over the 2001 spider-man any day.

...WHY ARE YOU DRESSED AS BATMAN?

Me neither.
And hell, I could probably beat Batman Returns on the snes without using a continue if it wasn't for Catwoman. My only offense is to trap her in a corner and punch like mad. Even then she still gets a few swipes on me.
Anyone know of a better way to beat the whiskers off her face?
