Well dreamcast is a pretty big DURR I'd say.

N64 is just kinda an ugly console, though I still think it pulled off 3D better than its rivals.

Its 2D games all looked like ass though, mainly because of the stupid pre-rendered pseudo-3D art direction so many of them used. That's right, Mischief Makers, as charming as you are and as much as I love you, you look like shit with that prerendered crap. I'm sorry.

Your mention of Mischief Makers caused me to look it up, now it looks like I have a new N64 game to want. I overlooked it as I usually use Gamespot to find stuff for older systems, as they have a more complete database of 32-bit gen stuff than most other review sites, and they game the game a 6.7.

www.mobygames.com is a better reference for older games. And at the time pretty much everyone gave mischief makers a low score because it was 2D when shitty 3d polygonal blockfaces were all the rage. The retro 3d look holds nostalgia value nowadays, but at the time even I could see through the bullshit and recognize a good game even when magazine editors were being shallow and stupid.

You know what's great and annoying at the same time? Trying to read The Oatmeal on a library computer, being massively entertained but straining painfully to keep from laughing very loudly. I'd do it at home, but the library has a much better internet connection than I do.

The only place I ever see them packed is at Best Buy. At Walmart, they just hang them out in the open, like gift cards. They are worthless until activated at the register, so there's no risk of stealing. But when they are packed, it's really annoying. They're built to withstand the apocalypse.
