Do you prefer steel cases or collector's box?

Yes, that was something I definitely noticed. Boxes shaped like triangles or even pyramids, ug. One thing I really like about Sega Master System packaging is how clean it looks on the shelf and how easy it is to find any given title. Granted, I don't think everything should be that minimalistic.BoringSupreez wrote:You'd have hated being a PC gamer in the 90's. Yeah thats my problem with collectors boxes. The packaging and extra stuff you get is really cool but I don't like the way that they stick outRedifer wrote:I like normal boxes that don't stick out like a cancerous tumor on my shelf.

Just for fun, 2 mammoth collector boxes with an old big box and a current normal box. The only crazy shaped box I ever had was Dark Seed.Redifer wrote:Yes, that was something I definitely noticed. What's Magna Carta? Also, didn't Dark Seed come in your average big box?Hobie-wan wrote:Just for fun, 2 mammoth collector boxes with an old big box and a current normal box. It is a Korean PC RPG. There were later installments that came out for PS2.KillerJuan77 wrote:What's Magna Carta? Also, didn't Dark Seed come in your average big box?

I bought it for the Hyung Tae Kim Artbook. There was an English translation being worked on, but I don't know if it was completed.
My copy of Dark Seed had a main box that if I recall was a little thinner at the top. There was a small separate square box turned 45 degrees and inset as a diamond. I no longer have the larger box portion, but I have the smaller piece somewhere.

Re: Do you prefer steel cases or collector's box?
I have to say I love the Metroid Prime Trilogy steel case. The paint seems resilient, it has a plastic sleeve to protect it, and unlike (for example) a big Spartan helmet, it fits on the shelf with my other games. It shouts "I am extra nice!" without taking up valuable space, and I like that a lot.
