You might already know this, but there is a compilation called Interplay's 10th Anniversary Anthology Collection, which happens to contains the PC port of Out of This World and 9 other games. I've never seen this collection mentioned on GameFAQs or other gaming sites, so I think it may be fairly obscure. I got it at Goodwill a month ago for a buck.

I dunno if a compilation counts as a "version" of a game, but I thought I'd tell you.

I'm one of those still working on the U.S. Nes Capcom list. :P

But my other goal is a complete collection of everything Phantasy Star released in the US.
Thanks everyone...

I generally focus on games that interest me, rather than trying to complete a set. Have about 10 games left of my GC wantlist, then I'll move back to GBA/C collecting.

Obviously, goal 3 is the most likely to ever actually happen.
Unless you're going for CIB, I would think that #3 is the easiest since there are less games total.
It also helps that pretty much all of them have been re-released in Europe in the last few years. It's only expensive if you demand the US version. No PC region locking FTW!

Starting to think about a legitimate collecting goal, I think I want to amass a Super Nintendo Konami collection.

- most of the shumps ever released on Sega consoles, PC Engine, PS1 and PS2, and PCB's depending what I can afford
- bunch of 90's big box PC games; System Shock, point & click adventures etc
- PC TBS, RTS and management games, and console SRPG's, again no particular goal
- Treasure games from Gunstar Heroes to Ikaruga
- some Castlevanias; Rondo of Blood, Simon's Quest, Bloodlines
- music games, including accessories, on all systems
- cool controllers like the one specifically made for Steel Battalion
- Vectrex
- board games

Not too crazy goals, as I don't try to get any full collection of something and I like to mix PAL, NTSC, NTSC-J. A lot of this isn't so wanted, so that helps too. Now I'm in the process getting rid of the stuff I don't use, like a bunch of others.

If I posted my full wishlist, I'd take 3 pages, lol. But here's the top goals I have right now:

1. Re-attain a working TurboGrafx-16. My cat broke my last one by sitting his fat ass on the controller where it plugs in and breaking the port. I sold it as-is with the games for $50. Thinking back, I should have kept the games at least.

2. Get a Colecovision or an Intellivision. I had an Atari 2600, and many of the Atari 2600 ports just annoyed me. So I sold it, as well. One question for anyone reading this and knows: Can I use my Sega Genesis controller on either of those systems like you can with Atari 2600?

3. Need to get the following for NES: Castlevania III, Ninja Gaiden III, Adventure Island 3, Mega Man 2, & Mega Man 5.

4. Need to get the following for SNES: Contra III, Super Castlevania IV

5. Need to get the following for Genesis: Castlevania: Bloodlines, Contra: Hard Corps, Shinobi III, Streets of Rage 2.

I spent the last several years backfilling all the old games I wanted to play as a kid, so I'm down to just a few goals:

MAMEify my two new arcade cabinets
Get a Pump It Up machine

The latter goal is something I could pull the trigger on now, but logistically it'd be better to wait for my two cabinets to be MAME'd. Once I have both cabs and PIU my basement will be rather cramped, so working around the back of an arcade machine will be difficult.

My only goal through collecting is providing myself with as much enjoyment through gaming as possible. I have no desire to collect every single game in any particular series, nor to obtain any system's entire catalogue. I see no need to buy games unless I'm relatively sure that I'll enjoy them.

If I did have a goal other than that, it would be to obtain every game I regret selling, or trading in as a stupid kid/teen. I swear, if I had a time machine, I would use it to slap the living shit out of my former self, letting go of titles I currently desire to play for chump change.

I also like picking up anything that I always wanted to play from previous generations, but never got around to. Also, I learn about new titles I'd like to try out every day... so yeah, there's always that. I'd also like to own a few cabinets once I'm more financially stable.

There's a few things I want to do, and honestly I change my mind about things here and there, but a couple off hand:

1. Complete Harvest Moon collection. Every game that's been released, though I won't go for specific versions. For instance, I only want the Color versions of the game boy games. I've got about half of them overall, and its mostly the newer games I need to catch up on.

2. Complete Ranma 1/2 collection. This might never happen. Its piss easy to find all of the games except for one. The only reason I haven't done that already is laziness. However, there was one title released for both PC 98 and MSX, and in years of looking I've never once seen either version anywhere on the web. This might be something where the only way I'll get a hold of it would be to ask one of our friendly members residing in Japan if they'd be willing to go look for it for me.

They also recently released a Ranma 1/2 pachinko machine, and I'd kinda like to get that too, heh.

Beyond those, there's nothing specific other than building my own personal dream library of games, with whatever I want to play. I'm not out for the "best", I'm out for what I like. Also, maybe an arcade or two, and a pinball machine.

However, it seems I've been getting a dose of crazy lately, because there's a part of me that suddenly wants to get every US released Genesis/CD/32X game, which is somewhere around 900 games altogether. When I mentioned this to my wife, she got excited and said it was a cool idea that I should definitely pursue. That's awesome and all, but its still crazy. Somebody slap the shit out of me before I try to do this.
