I was wondering if anyone has any hardware numbers on the U.S. Neo Geo systems, more specifically the Neo Geo CD or AES. I'm looking for how many of each of those systems were sold in the U.S.
I've searched online and I really can't find this information anywhere.
Anyone have any Neo Geo numbers?

Okay, so apparently the Neo Geo AES sold about 300,000 units in the U.S. Not sure about the CD though.

Thanks for sharing this info. I've been curious about this myself, and after looking around, the only thing I could safely conclude was that fewer than 1M units were sold in the US. I would have guessed 500K.Soldier Blue wrote:Okay, so apparently the Neo Geo AES sold about 300,000 units in the U.S. Not sure about the CD though.
Out of curiosity, can you cite your source?

I found that at the neogeo.com forums. Some people were listing their system numbers and they got up to about 337,000 or so. Can't find the damn link now though.dedalusdedalus wrote:Thanks for sharing this info. In comparison the Atari Jaguar sold about 250,000. That would explain why I've never seen either in the wild.

Do you mean used? Cuz I saw tons of Neos and Jags when they were new.Soldier Blue wrote:I found that at the neogeo.com forums. Some people were listing their system numbers and they got up to about 337,000 or so. Can't find the damn link now though.

Keep looking--they're definitely out there! I've seen a few Jags here and there, but never one at a price I was willing to pull the trigger on.Soldier Blue wrote:That would explain why I've never seen either in the wild.
I see about one Neo (AES) a year for sale on Craigslist in my area. Eventually you just have to bite the bullet and buy one of those.
MVS's pop up about once a month around here; sometimes more. In comparison, they're a great deal if you have the space!
