saturn doesnt see my ram cart?

Post by Munkee915 »

I bought the ram cart from this site and when i try to load up final fight revenge it keeps telling me the cart isnt inserted correctly. I noticed there a switch on the cart and ive tried it in both positions but keep getting the same message. Tried cleaning dust out of the slot, and nothing. Am i doing something wrong or do u think i got a bad cart?

i've had issues with ram carts before. Usually after a few tries it work. Sometimes when i put it in, the saturn doesn't see it. Then i take it out put it in firmly, usually fixes it. I believe the switch is to change it from 1mb to 4mb so just set it to whatever your game needs.

which side does the switch go to for 4mb mode? left or right? I'll give it another couple tries. Thanks.

It's also possible that the cart slot on you Saturn is broken. This is a weak point on many Saturns but since most folks don't use the cart slot for anything it quite often goes unnoticed by most.

aww dammit....well i tried for about 30 minutes last night. Flipping the switch every which way and reinserting everal times. Either a really bad cart, or a bad slot. guess i can play the games that need it in ssf for now. Thanks for the help.

I have a spare Saturn motherboard that has a good cart slot if you want to try to repair what you've got. PM me if you are interested. This motherboard works, but only puts out B&W video (not sure why) but that shouldn't affect how the cart slot works.
