Has there ever been a decent sex scene in a video game?

What are you guys talking about? Today's video game market is nothing but sex! Every other day, there is a news story about DLC, DRM, Sony, EA, Activision, etc. fucking up the video game industry and anally raping gamers across the world.

Jokes aside, I agree that generally speaking the video game industry still has a lot of growing up to do. We have had some nudity and a lot of cursing but it's not enough. There is nothing bad about sex, especially in a video game where it's not even real. Hopefully we can reach the point where a video game can have a full on hardcore sex scene and everyone would be perfectly OK with it and treat it like a normal everyday thing.

As for answering the question at hand, I have no idea. The games that I usually play are Japanese so even if they had nudity or sexual content, it would censored. I still cannot believe that Japan censors their porn. It's really embarrassing and shameful.

I'm not sure there is such a thing as a "decent sex scene". If you're telling a story, just tell it. The only reason to go beyond implied sex is to arouse the viewer. If I wanted to be sexually aroused, I'd be in bed with my girlfriend or watching porn.

Honestly, I find the typical soft core sex scene less tasteful than hardcore pornography. It's like the writers shitting on the story they've been telling for the cheapest possible thrill, and then half assing it.

I'll throw in a mention too for the Viva Pinata games, where sex takes the form of a playable mini-game, followed by a cutscene of the two pinatas dancing. Then, a stork brings an egg to their house. What's funny is that the game doesn't keep track of family relations meaning you'll see a whole lot of incest going on as you try to breed more pinatas in that game. Just one of many weird things about those games

No mention of Xenogears in that list disappoints me. Granted, it may not have shown the deed, but a lot of those in the list didn't either - and it still managed to do it better.

What if you were playing a video game with a friend and a sex scene came on and aroused both of you? Wouldn't that be hot? I think it sounds awesome.

Movies do this sort of thing all the time. Of course sex doesn't belong in most video games, but when it makes sense, it should be allowed to be in there to help improve the story.

I think in general sex scenes really don't add anything to most movies and tv shows I see them in. I think they work well though in Game of Thrones because that show is really all about showing every explicit detail of that show's world to really draw you into it. So every brutal, violent or sexual moment is shown in its entirety for you to see. It actually helps to show what a dark, depressing sort of world it is as so much of what happens on that show is just people giving in to base instincts. It's all about sex, power and greed on that show

I think sex scenes in video games should be there simply as way to put it on equal footing with other entertainment mediums. I would like to see them used well though, because most movies and shows throw them in just for the hell of it it seems. I hate when a movie plays some sexy music, show some quick shots of skin and it's completely pointless because you knew the characters were going to have sex without the movie basically spelling it out for you with a silly, little montage
