Looks like the buttons are way too down, or is just me?

Yep other non-capcom games will use this add-on so the 3Ds Lite XL Plus will have a 2nd stick. It would be interesting to see WiiU games played on the 3DS like some people can control their computer's with a PSP and can "play" with the PSP.

I think fastbilly was more thinking of it as a possibility for multiplayer allowing everyone a 2nd screen - kinda like 4 swords or FFCC on gamecube.
The system can already do that with 3DS games, as evidenced by Starfox 64 3D, which can support four player dogfights with only one actual cartridge.
I'd assume that if there was a compelling reason to make a Wii U game with that sort of connectivity it'd be possible...but I'd count it more as network gaming than the 3DS being a Wii U controller. The real catch, IMO, would be the purpose of including a Wii U in the equation if you're effectively limited to things that'd run on a 3DS.
Download play has existed since the GBA (probably before that in some title, but that is the example I am going to stay with). I was referencing using it for something like 4 Swords, but it could be used for something more. It just needs the developers to think out of the box. We dont know about the true power of the WiiU yet, since they have not released any specs, so it is not something I would write out completely. Something like FFCC Echoes of Time, which on the Wii allowed you to link up with 3 DS's is a good example of inter-connectivity (possibly the only on the Wii).

If the WiiU just has to stream an inventory or map system, that takes up very little bandwidth and would allow people to play multiplayer on the same tv with the same options. So if the WiiUmote is connected via Bluetooth, and a 3ds hooked up via wifi, they could have the same experience. It would have to be setup that you cannot pair down to just your handheld device midgame, but that should not be that big of an issue in a multiplayer game.

I have used something similar to this idea when I played Descent 3 last by setting up a netbook and having it log into my primary pc via vnc just to show the map. Since it was such a low load, the map was always up to date on where I was in the world and instantly made the game more approachable.

Having seen the pictures of it properly, it doesn't look that bad, however it does make the charging dock completely obsolete since it won't fit in the damn thing... Ugh.

I still think it looks a little uncomfy having the buttons so far from the side of the device when it's all put together. Gonna need to stretch to hit that Y button...

I don't think the actual ergonomics will be that bad. It will take some getting used to that's for certain but it shouldn't be that much of a big deal really.
