Help me name some games

Post by alienjesus »

Yeah, another of these threads, I know you guys enjoy the challenge. The first of these is something VERY vaguely remembered from when I was like 3, the other is a game someone else vaguely remembers, I figured if anyone would know, you guys would.

OK.

Game 1: I'm pretty sure it was for Commodore 64, although it could've been another computer system from around that time. You play as some sort of duck (I think) and you peck the floor to make blocks drop to the level below, crushing enemies underneath. the levels are laid out like several vertical layers of blocks, kind of like the hammer bros bits on world 8 of mario bros if i remember rightly, but I remember this game so little that could be completely wrong.

Game 2: Here's the other guy's description: "I think another NES game. Vertical space shooter for part of the game, and you are a plane of sorts. After that stage (or maybe it's a few stages), your plane then transforms into a humanoid robot? and it becomes a top down action game? Similar to Zelda, you move to the edge of a screen during this point and the screen slides to the next one."

Anyone have any ideas?

Gah, game 2 sounds really familiar, but I can't put my finger on it...

Cheers guys, I' actually heard of that game but forgot about it completely.

I also figured out what Game 1 was - It's called Top Duck, and apparently it's not very good. Here's a video:

The graphics are better than I remember though, maybe I did play it on another computer system, or maybe my memory is not that accurate.

Thanks a lot, now I am going have to dig out my Vic20, buried in a box somewhere in the washroom. I have a Duck shooting game on a white cart somewhere in the pile. Not the same game per your description, but a Demon Attack or Galaxian style game. The duck is your controlled game character, shoot the crabs from building the blocks.

EDIT
Thanks to the wonders of the internet, my sanity is saved. I knew I remebered this game correctly.
