Should I leave neutral feedback?

Post by Jamisonia »

Should I leave neutral feedback for somebody shipping a SNES fightstick media mail? The auction just had the non descript Free Standard Shipping with no other options. The fightstick got to me just fine, however; there was the possibility that it could have been seized or sent cash on delivery by USPS if they had decided to open it. I feel like other buyers should be aware that the possibility exists with this seller than you stuff will not get to you because he takes shortcuts like using Media Mail improperly. Or am I just whining?

Since it got to you fine with no damage you should leave a positive rating. But also send a friendly message to the seller explaining the issue. Had any of these possible issues occurred I would leave a negative rating and open a case through ebay.

After fees and shipping - they would've essentially paid you to take the stick.

Yes, their fault for starting an auction too low, absolutely.

Yes, they broke the rules of media mail (created to be able to cheaply ship educational and artistic forms of media for the betterment of our nation, and one of the reasons the Government (ie, the federal taxpayer) backed entity that is the USPS is hemorraghing is the abuse of media mail, which loses money).

Yes, it could have arrived postage due, i've had that happen - though i've never heard of them seizing the item.

Look at like this, you got a very cheap item in good condition - that is a positive experience, correct? Had it arrived postage due, that would have been negative. Pretty cut and dried.

I would leave positive feedback as you got your item without problem and it was exactly as he described it. However I would send him a message explaining the issue and explaining how this could effect sales in the future and he needs to be more careful as if USPS was to arrive expecting postal costs on delivery it would likely seriously piss off most buyers and if that had happened to you you'd have left negative feedback and put in a complaint. This is just a warning to something that could happen, in this case everything went well, but it's better to know the risks. If he doesn't respond reasonably, then consider reporting him to YouTube for misusing postal methods and potentially misleading his buyers but to leave bad rep when you did get the item and it was exactly what you ordered, that seems unfair.

I'd leave positive feedback, but like most everyone's suggesting, send them a note an' voice your concern. Now If you happen to order from them again an' they make the same mistake...
