I've got an old Nintendo DS, one of the old fat ones, and a flash card, the DS-XTREAM one, 4Gb internal memory. The support forum shown on the card was www.ds-x-com . I think they removed links/closed a while back, not looked on there for a long time so no idea.
I didn't update the drivers for ages, then when I looked there several months ago found the links to updates for the firmware were gone; so couldn't play some games I had ROMs for.
The version i'm using is DS-Xtreme OS V1.0.1
Does anyone have a link to where I can get firmware updates for it to being it fairly up to date, or can email it to me?
I've not had the time or inclination to play the DS for a long time now, however may do at some point for the limited games i'm interested on there; hence question; if I leave it much longer i'll be lucky to be able to get drivers!

Re: Updated drivers for old DS
I think you're better off throwing away your card and getting a new one like Acekard 2i for $15.
Even if you could find the drivers/firmware, it's unlikely that you'll be able to put any games from the last few years on it and have them work.

Throw it away and get a new one. R4i and Acekard2i are well supported in the scene, so even if the official software vendors fold or abandon the card the scene will cater for you with the likes of Wood and YSMenu etc. Acekard2i is by far the most supported and is highly recommended.

That cart has been dead for many years, you won't find any updates that will give you the results that you're looking for. You will need to get yourself a more modern cart, like the aforementioned R4i Gold (from r4ids.cn team), Acekard 2i or the Supercard DSTWO.

My friend loves the DSTWO. Said GBA emulation is pretty spot on.irixith wrote:That cart has been dead for many years, you won't find any updates that will give you the results that you're looking for. Re: Updated drivers for old DS
It's not emulation, it's a hook for the roms to load on the GBA hardware in the DS. You can do that with the 3in1 expansion pack and GBA exploader on ANY flash cart that supports homebrew.D.D.D. wrote:My friend loves the DSTWO. Even if he's running the DSTWO on a DSIXL?Niode wrote:It's not emulation, it's a hook for the roms to load on the GBA hardware in the DS. In the context of the DSi, it is emulation.Niode wrote:It's not emulation, it's a hook for the roms to load on the GBA hardware in the DS.D.D.D. wrote: My friend loves the DSTWO. Said GBA emulation is pretty spot on.
Re: Updated drivers for old DS
It is emulation -- it's one of the major selling points of the cart! It contains an entire extra CPU that is used for SNES/GBA emulation, useful for those who ditched their Lite for a DSi or DSi XL. Of course, like pretty much all slot-1 carts on the market, it can utilize your favourite slot-2 as well if you're still using a DS lite.Niode wrote:It's not emulation, it's a hook for the roms to load on the GBA hardware in the DS. However, contrary to whoever said the GBA emulation is spot-on, that couldn't be farther from the truth. It's actually pretty piss-poor. Games run, most don't run particularly well. The SDK is poor, and it seems what's available now is as good as it's going to get. It's more like a fun extra/bonus than a real legitimate feature worth buying it for.
