Also, what's a good SMS title to start out with?

Every console has its unique great games. Decide on the games before the system. Maybe hit the 101 and other guides on Racketboy to get a start?

There are two people here selling their Master System: brunoafh and bartre. I don't know if they sold them or not, but that's a start.

I managed to pick up the SMS (http://www.ebay.com/itm/130572227660?ss ... 1439.l2649) for a decent price. $45 I also got After Burner (http://www.ebay.com/itm/290604033554?ss ... 1439.l2649) complete, which looks fun.

Also, for those above who were saying I shouldn't just blindly collect for a console I don't know about I just wanted to tell you that I was thinking about the SMS for a while and knew what the games were like. I was simply asking for your opinion.

Anyway, thanks for all the help.

Also, be sure to pick up Phantasy Star; it is the best RPG for the Master System, has gorgeous graphics for an 8-bit game [it looks at least as good as your average TurboGrafx-16 game]. But, the version for the Japanese Master System was better because it supported the FM Audio in that console version. Regardless, it is something every Master System owner should play.

Yea, Phantasy Star looks amazing. Probably my favorite part of the game is the perspective when you're in a battle.

This list is pretty awesome: http://www.retro-sanctuary.com/TOP%2010 ... e%201.html

I don't necessarily agree with the order, especially near the top, but it covers all the great gamesfor the system. I agree with their choice for #1 though!
