Busted GameBoy Color screen/ and R-Type DX question...

Hello everyone,

I'm kinda worried about a recent gbc i bought of ebay. The screen at the top is missing 2 lines of pixels it seems. Is this common or should i find a way to fix this?
I tried looking around to buy a new lcd screen. But so far i only found 1 website that had them (sold out).
Maybe im just a little paranoid, but that screen is already so small. I need those extra pixels real bad
Also. The third level of R-Type DX is a living nightmare, how the hell are you supposed to survive all those moving platforms?

Hmm, on the original GB fixing missing vertical lines is easy. The horizontal ones are impossible to fix. I have no idea if you can do the same on a GBC with vertical lines. Open it up and see if the strip that leads to the screen is a heat resistant one. If it is, you can try heating the strip to reflow the tin in the connections. Have a look on YouTube on how to fix those, and then open up your GBC and see if it has a similar strip leading to the screen. I doubt it though, but it won't hurt having a look... ^^
