PSP Questions and Thread

Post by jod5000 »

Hey, I was thinking about importing a Blue Japanese PSP 3000 link:http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-9e- ... -38my.html and I have some questions about the PSP:

Will it play NTSC games (I live in Canada)/ Is it region locked?
Is the XMB confusing in japanese?
Can I change the language?
What UMD games do you think will become rare into the future?
Also do you think its worth it to import one because I love that color and I've been
wanting to get into the psp for a while because games are cheap and im a bit bored
with my 3ds.
So, Import or not

Seems like a lot of trouble to go through for not a lot of return.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

The reason why I'd do it is because I love the Color and so far I have Dissidia and Birth by Sleep from when my psp 2000 wasnt broke. And I want to upgrade to a 3000! (and have it working)

The PSP is not region locked for UMDs, so it will play your NTSC games. It is however region locked for UMD movies.

Yes, you can change the XMB to English.

Pretty much all UMD games will be some kind of rare, especially complete. They all see such low print runs. Be on the lookout for games from companies like Atlus -- they have the smallest print runs.

I think you're crazy to pay $230 for a PSP-3000, especially when you can buy one for $129 at a ton of places in Canada. No you can't buy that colour, but a simple faceplate or full case mod will fix that for less than the extra $100 + shipping + customs fee + import duty.

Wasn't there an old Madden PSP bundle that was blue?

Agreed with the consensus so far... I would just buy one locally and save a ton of cash. I guess if you REALLY want it in a certain colour, then go for it... but personally, I recommend using the extra money to put towards getting a PC Engine Duo or some import Saturn shoot 'em ups.

Irixith is dead on in her post.
