Which (2) 5th GEN Consoles are you owning? Poll Question

Ok, so yes, these topics get beat to death, discussed, around and around and i'm positive this exact question has been asked before. But ya know what, I didn't partake if/when it did and this latest thread on overrated/underrated in regard to Saturn can be handled democratically, eh?

So, select the 2 consoles listed in the poll that you would own, assuming there were laws against owning more than 2 consoles from certain time periods.

Please post in the thread which 2 you selected an why.

Assume the console is region modded for reasons of including PAL/JP exclusives, etc.

Take into account controllers, games released, appearance/durability of the console itself, cost of hardware/games/peripherals, 3rd party options, etc and etc.

3DO and Jaguar, rest are inferior and boring.

E: Ok, really I choose PS1 and Saturn, not too challenging. PS1 is pretty much must have, as the library is just too versatile and vast to be ignored and between N64 and Saturn it's matter of taste. 3DO and Jaguar are more specialty items from my point of view, and while Saturn shmups go with beer, Jag requires fine wine to go with it.

A possible flaw there is that the PS1 hardware is hardly necessary to play PS1 games, given that the PS2 and PS3 play nearly all of them just fine.

The N64 has some of my favorite games like Starfox 64 and Conker's Bad Fur Day, but I easily chose the PS1 and Saturn. The amount of quality games on the PS1 alone and the Saturn with its tons of imports and handful of awesome North American games like Three Dirty Dwarves make them my choices. The 3DO and Jaguar I have little experience with, but can't imagine that they can really compete with the other consoles listed

Nintendo 64 and PS1. I've never owned or played a Saturn and the other consoles don even stand a chance.

Sega Saturn:
The 2D fighters and the epic shmups are a no brainer for me personally and the console has enough RPG's (Shining the Holy Ark, Shining Force, Magic Knight Rayearth) and enough unique stuff (NiGHTS, Guardian Heroes) and my fav puzzle game (Baku Baku) that its pure quantity of games is not a hindrance. The saturn 2pad is superb, the NiGHTS controller, the virtua stick and HORI fight stick are incomparable for the time. Oh...and 10player bomberman games!

N64:
I'm an open and proud Mario Lover. Mario 64 was transcendant and prematurely convinced us 3D was the way of the future, and we actually enjoyed sub-par clunky 3D stuff for quite awhile as a result of this amazing gem. Mario Kart 64 was simply hours and hours of 4p fun. Both Zelda Games, imo are on par w/anything in the action/rpg PSX library. The controller had flaws and outside the pricey HORI pad, epic controllers are few and far between. It has maintained a very affordable cost many years later, it is considered "The library to collect" in terms of collecting game libraries, it is not huge, not too pricey, and just about everything is playable.

N64: This my the console I owned during the 5th generation and as a result I know its library the best. I like the size and shape of the console and while the joystick sucks, I still am fond of the bizarre controller. I'm a sucker for 3D platformers, Mario Kart 64 is still the party game of choice when my friends from high school get together, and Super Smash Bros is the only fighter I've been good at (and I'm damn good at that).

PS1: After the PS2 was released I finally picked up one and fell in love. I sunk in countless hours into the RPGs in high school and since getting a PSP I've been playing a lot of PSone Classics. The pre-Dual Shock controller is one of my favorites and the start-up sequence is my favorite ever. I like the jewel cases given how easy they are to replace and especially like the design of the PSone.

What both seals my choice for both of these though is the price. Compared to the Saturn these are nice and cheap. While I don't doubt that the Saturn has some fun games, the price of the best games is reason I'd rather pick up a 360 and buy Radiant Silvergun and Guardian Heroes on XBLA.

-Durable, functional and no nonsense design
-Cheap, easy to acquire
-Excellent 2D visuals
-Phenomenal J library, especially shmups and fighters
-10 player Saturn Bomberman!
-Panzer Dragoon games
-Burning Rangers
-NiGHTS
-Guardian Heroes
-Donpachi
-DoDonpachi
-Radiant Silvergun
-Gunbird
-Sexy Parodius
-Detana! Twinbee - Yahoo Deluxe Pack

N64: My favorite system ever (barring computers). So many extremely fun games (Rare FTW!), I love all the attachments, and I'm also one of the few people who likes the controller design. More durable than the other choices, too. No loading times, and games usually save to the cart. Best graphics that generation. It's the cheapest one to get into as well, because none of the best games cost more than $30 except Conker.

PS1: The first console I ever owned myself (nostalgia value). None of my 10 favorite games are on this system, but it's got tons of games I enjoy nonetheless. It's like the PS2 of it's generation, something for everyone. Good controller design as well (I mean the Dualshock here), plus I'm decent at fixing broken PS1s. I'd be taking the little white PSone model, BTW.

As for Saturn, 3DO, and Jaguar? I wouldn't take the Saturn because it has the fewest games I enjoy, and it's not the best system for a gamer on a budget (me). 3DO? Same problems as the Saturn, only worse (except for game prices). Jaguar? Ha, that one's a turd! What's it got anyway, Rayman (better on Saturn, available on PS1 as well) and Tempest 2000?

Saturn. It's the only one I really see worth owning from that period due to the amount of exclusives.

You can always buy a PS2 or PS3 and play PS1 games along with tons of others.

The N64 is a POS and literally has NO games that interest me or are available elsewhere. (Turok)
