Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
I decided to keep my copy of Hagane, its alot more rare than Earthbound, its just that EVERYONE wants Earthbound, its not rare at all.
also i stand by my statement, if i wanted internet deals i would buy off amazon or ebay and not goto pawn or thrift stores.
also i can say ive been to a few garage sales where they werent trying to "move" stuff fast, like trying to sell Gears of War 2 for $20... and this was a couple weeks ago at a garage sale, but i did pick up Super Mario Galaxy for $10! and they also had a Super Mario World for $3 but i dont really buy doubles, but $3 is a deal if i ever seen one cause ive seen Super Mario World go for $20-30 at pawn stores, which is absurd.
like most of us we spend alot of time browsing the web and other places to get a good idea of what games are worth so when we go out in the real world we can spot a deal! dont you think we are entitled to it kinda like when someone has a degree from college, they spent the time so they can make more money in the end.
dont you ever watch American Pickers? those dudes are ripping people off left and right, but its all good fun at the end of the day, then again most those people are lucky someone is out looking for there rusty gold.

i can't stand people that assume they HAVE to find deals at goodwill. god forbid they actual charge market value.Hazerd wrote: i goto GoodWill today and look for some games, usually they have nothing but stupid sport games for dirt cheap, well i see a SNES game in there glass case and low and behold its Super Metroid, which is always a good score and they want fucking $24.99 for it! thats not a deal and certainly shouldnt be priced that high at GoodWill considering they got it for free.
so i take it if i were to look at your b/s/t thread - assuming you have one - all your prices would be deals and wouldn't be anywhere close to ebay prices?
if you took a shit, please put it back

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Even cheap games cost money. And I have to justify buying Ocarina of Time repeatedly to the wife somehow. Generally I prefer trades. And I've always made it a point to trade generously.mjmjr25 wrote:@50DC, you have posted some amazing finds on this particular thread - I mean insane finds. But as I check your b/s/t, your prices are in line with everyone else?
007: GoldenEye: $8.00
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: $12.00
Banjo-Kazooie: $10.00
Glover: $3.00
Blast Corps (torn label): $3.00
WCW Nitro: $3.00
Jet Force Gemini: $4.00
Super Mario 64: $12.00
So where's the sense of community - you know, "reselling them cheaply"? Hmmm.

I'm ENTITLED to a deal when i SEE ONE, and those who dont spot it are at a loss.Opa Opa wrote:We're not entitled to anything.Hazerd wrote:like most of us we spend alot of time browsing the web and other places to get a good idea of what games are worth so when we go out in the real world we can spot a deal! dont you think we are entitled to it kinda like when someone has a degree from college, they spent the time so they can make more money in the end.
Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
The goodwills in my area definitely do not give a 20% off coupon for donating, and they definitely don't hire people with developmental disabilities. I know 5 people who work at different goodwills around here, and one of them is my mom. So, yeah, I stand by my "goodwill is a business" statement.
But I do agree that we aren't "entitled" to great deals, per se, it's just maddening to think that someone really thinks a beat up old gamecube is justifiably priced at $30. Hell, we have an entire thread devoted to dumbasses who overprice things.
It's not just games, either. Pretty much everything has hiked in price at my local goodwills recently.
