Anyone own a Toshiba 20AF43?

Post by Lodestar »

I bought a TOSHIBA 20AF43 for 20 dollars, I'm pretty impressed with the condition and amount of inputs. I got it specifically for retro gaming, so I wouldn't have to deal with the delay of an LCD screen when playing older games.

This is an older TV, and the previous owner has tamperered with some of the settings in the hidden service menu, if only I knew what they were supposed to be or what they should be set to, I wouldn't have this problem. If anyone has this TV and can give me a
list of the default values, that would be just as helpful!

The settings I need are as follows:

00 OSD
35 SEP2
34 SEP1
33 LEVEL
32 TRAPEZIU
31 CORNER
30 PARABOLA
29 CR PED
28 CB PED
27 CR DL
26 CB DL
25 SHARP
24 TINT
23 COL. MIN
22 COL. CENT
21 COL. MAX
20 CONT. MIN
19 CONT. CEN
18 CONT. MAX
17 BRI. MIN
16 BRI. CENT
15 BRI. MAX
14 B. BIAS
13 G. BIAS
12 R. BIAS
11 B. DRV
10 R. DRV
09 VS. CORR
08 V. LIN
07 V. SIZE
06 H. SIZE
05 V. SHIFT
04 AFC GAIN
03 H. PHASE
02 H. VCO

No you cannot. This is why its imperative you write down the settings prior to making any adjustments in the service menu. However I have the 32AF43 and I believe these are my factory options.

best thing you can do is look up the service manual for your tv

sometimes they'll have default values listed

I called them and they told me if I had the official remote I could reset the picture settings (but that's only in the regular menu, doesn't cover the hidden service menu).

Jamisonia, I appreciate you posting the values, but the names of them are different so I wouldn't know which of mine corresponds to yours. I'm assuming the 32 in your model number refers to the size of the TV?

I really need to get these values. :(

the 32 does refer to the size. mmm, let me double check, those might be the values for another TV i had. but i could have sword I wrote down the Toshiba values. In the meantime this website describes common Toshiba service menu options and what they do.

I feel like there should be a tweaking guide somewhere for getting the best out of this TV, but maybe that's wishful thinking. I wouldn't mind setting everything to what a qualified person's settings might be...in that guide you linked, they talked about Toshiba's factory settings being rather lackluster, coming stock with convergence and all. Too bad the settings in his model's service menu can't be applied to my own - big ol' disclaimer in red said not to do it.

Bump, still need the hidden service menu values. Even if you know a person that has this TV, it would help a lot.
