How are your New Year's resolutions doing?

Post by J T »

At the start of the year, we talked about our 2011 New Year's gaming and collecting goals

I wanted to play and/or beat a lot of games that I already own. Looking over my games beaten list, a lot of what I beat this year were browser games, with a few games from my backlog in the mix. Mostly though, I would say this resolution isn't quite up to snuff.

I wanted to spend less, and I have done that, largely by either reminding myself that I have a huge backlog or finding legally free downloads. Still bought a few things, but nothing like years past.

I also wanted to stay ahead of the curve in indie games and share my findings with you guys, which I think I have succeeded at.

How are your resolutions going so far?

I know I wasn't a member at the beginning of the year, but my New Year's resolution is not to make a New Year's resolution. It's been working well.

Back in 1986 or so I made a resolution to not make any more resolutions. It's worked perfectly.

Also, if I want to make a resolution or a change, etc, I don't wait until New Years to do it.

I believe I pledged to increase my Panzer Dragoon collection, which the only progress I have made is that I recently purchased a strategy guide to Orta. So I suppose I technically have kept it.

My gaming collection both retro/modern is getting better, got a better paying job with benefits, and I've almost finished my MCSE IT certification and plan to hopefully start my Cisco CCNA cert before the end of the year or wait till 2012.

IIRC, I resolved to eat a pizza.

I won.
