What Modern Game Should I Play?

You should play Uncharted 2. I've played Gears 2 and Deep Space before, neither one was as fun as Uncharted 2.

Play fallout 3 over new Vegas if you haven't already played it.

Yeah I hated Fallout 3, but loved New Vegas (different devs, made a difference to me). I don't think you're missing out on anything by skipping 3.

I went with Enslaved, I loved every minute of that game. The gameplay mechanics, the characters, the story.

With the exception of Halo 3: ODST (Though it is better than the first 3 because there is no flood), I think every game on your list is a 'must play'.

Above all of them I think Portal 2 needs a play if you have not played it (and the first if the same)

Why jump to sequels if you haven't played the original? Just seems odd to me.

I did play the originals of each game I listed, I never play sequels without playing the original first. I'm one of the few people who beat Assassin's Creed 1 before playing the sequel.

I played Fallout 3 quite a bit (But liked Oblivion way more) and a lot of people told me that New Vegas sucks in comparison because it's not by Bethesda. Oh & I didn't beat Splinter Cell: Double Agent but did play it. I also have Portal 2 but it doesn't work for some reason, not even a scratch on it, tested on three different consoles too.

Other way around man, at least I'd say so. New Vegas was done by some of the staff that worked on the original Fallout 1-2, and it's Obsidian, who worked on the KOTOR games, and other great things. The writing, dialogue, and pacing of New Vegas is head and shoulders above what I played of Fallout 3 if you ask me.

I'll give it a go but I don't really like the first two Fallout games. And Obsidian only worked on KOTOR 2 which was much weaker than the first one.
