Watched Rambo: First Blood last night. It was good as a fun, violent shoot-out sort of movie. Not as cheesy as the parodies make it out to be.

Did you watch RAMBO: First Blood Part II, or First Blood? They are very different (and equally good) films.

First Blood, not Part II. Never seen Part II, don't know if I should bother or not.

If you can't handle explosions upon explosions and shots of Stallone showing off his buffness and killing possibly 1/3 of the Vietnam population then it isn't the film for you.

First Blood Part II is awesome, but it's way more action oriented than the first film. The first one is for all intents and purposes a drama.

Rambo 3 was kinda dumb. I liked Rambo 4 tho, although it was ultraviolent. (awesome).

It's OnDemand for $10 if you'd like to see it as it doesn't look it will get the theatrical release Kevin Smith hoped for. Goodman and Parks are great, the movie itself is good, but nothing astonishing. Worth a watch for sure.

The House By The Cemetery, as much as I love The Beyond and The New York Ripper (It's so sleazy it's unbelievable) this just became my favorite Fulci film, creepy, disturbing and with a fairly intense atmosphere. Definetely recommended for horror fans, although I must say this: watch it in italian, the english dub is atrocious.

Rewatched "Scott Pilgrim vs the World", and no... I didn't beat the game yet (I said I'd watch the movie after I beat the game). Weird how I forgot alot of the stuff when I saw it the first time. I mean, I couldn't remember how Scott defeated Roxy or why I don't remember Lynette (drummer chick from TC@D) from the movie (she was downgraded to a background character).

Wanna see X-Men: First Class.

Found out that they're making a documentary about Peter Gatien called "Limelight".

Curious about a few ideas I have for preexisting IPs as movies:

* Rocket Power: basically, using the Star Trek school of film sequels to television shows, we check back in with the characters about several years down the road. I'm thinking Clark Gregg (New Adventures of Old Christine, Thor, Mr. Popper's Penguins) as Raymundo.
* Wild Thornberrys: standard reboot. Chloe Moretz as Eliza, AnnaLynn McCord as Debbie, rest of cast TBD.
* Power Rangers SPD: basically, disconnect it from the PR universe and reboot it. Make it less of a kid-friendly action film and more of a hard-PG-13 sci-fi cop/military drama. Sky's character was already pretty perfect for the film, as he's basically an in-his-father's-shadow-type character (a la James Kirk in '09's Star Trek).
* Rugrats: reboot with a new cast. Cast some CGI magic to turn adult actors into infants. Already have some good casting choices. Another thing is make it so we get a glimpse into the lives of the babies and their parents. Basically, we begin shortly after Stu and Didi move in. I'm also going for early-Rugrats, when there's some stuff that goes over the kids' heads (Lonely Space Vixens, anyone?).

I wouldn't say it is boring at all. It feels more like a Cohen brothers film than a Smith film. At $10 a rental, it's pricey, but if you and a few friends chip in it's definitely cheaper than going to the theater.

You would rate FC over Cap? Of course it's all up to personal opinion, but I found Cap leaps and bounds better than FC. Not to be snide, but christ FC spent so much wasted time on characters sitting around and talking about their mutant powers. I also thought the special effects in FC weren't up to par, and were no where near as good as in X2, which was made several years earlier.



Oh, and on topic, I watched WHO'S THAT GIRL last night. I think Madonna's acting quality reached its apex in this movie. She's still awful, but almost likable in this. Almost. But hey, there is a Tiger in the movie, so that's worth something.

Saw The King's Speech last night. I thought it was wonderful. My expectation was to be bored to tears and I found it very compelling. Loved the acting from Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush. If you're into these type of dramas at all, I would say highly recommended.

I have not had a chance to see it yet, so for the comic movies I have actually seen, I enjoyed xmen a lot.
