Outside of its first few years when it had its share of would-be Dreamcast ports (the best of the bunch, too, with Panzer Dragoon Orta and Jet Set Radio Future) the lists of exclusive titles have been absolutely pathetic for both the original Xbox and its successor (even being merciful and discluding titles that also appeared on PC), unless you're just absolutely fucking nutso for driving sims and taking cover behind things. Obviously they're not the worst consoles of all time, but the culture that surrounds the brand both internally (total corporate garbage, completely lacking even the vaguest semblance of creativity) and its core fanbase (primarily bankrupt of any inspiration in their gaming, addicted to the most meaningless elements of games possible, and endlessly supporting corporate pandering by throwing gobs of money at the most blatant cash-in franchises in gaming) is just unforgivably bad.

And it's not just a case of to me either. The Xbox fanbase has been the biggest (not the only, but biggest) factor in turning big-budget gaming into absolute the creative poverty we see today.

I fixed an old, broken Xbox 360 and it's literally my least-played console of all time. I absolutely hate the fucking thing. I'd sell it, but everyone around me already owns one, which just makes me angrier because it reminds me of all the undeserved dollars that Microsoft has gotten for their shitty console.

My favorite would be the Sega Dreamcast, though. I've stated my reasoning for this many times, most recently would be the Top 10 consoles thread.
Hallelujah, brother! I don't really dislike any console, but Xbox consoles are there at the very bottom. N64 isn't my favorite either, but at least I can see the appeal of that. You put it quite harshly, but truth always hurts (someone). It is complete mystery to me as to why Xbox has sold so well, especially as there were a lot of those hardware fails with the 360, I believe. Would think that would scare away even the most gullible. Sure, 360 is okay console if you really, really want XBLA or don't have good enough rig or PS3 to play PC ports with.

I wouldn't be able to choose my favorite, but I say that (backwards compatible) PS2 has helluva game library. I love all the 16-bit era goodness more, though.

I honestly found his post to be a bit ridiculous. Those same blockbustergames are released on the ps3 as well... many console versions of games are made for the 360 an ported over to PS3. There are hardly any exclusives any more.

People tend to forget gaming is a business, game publishers and devs make what sells.

The Wii is where all the exclusives are.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Outside of halo, resistance, LBP and a handful of others, ya the Wii has Nintendo games and shovelware for the most part.

Well, they're not consoles, they're handhelds. But you're right, you should judge them on the exact same merits. But to me handhelds always felt like an afterthought... at least until the GBA started getting really good and then the DS came out and clearly stood on its own.

Fair enough. Handheld games consoles are amongst my favourites though, I feel they often seem to ahve more quirky and experimental games because lower development costs mean its less risky to try something new.

I'm not a big fan of the PS3, i find i find it boring compared to the libraries of the PS2 and PSX. And Resistance sucks. Anyways, my most favorite would have to go to the SNES. Can't beat Chrono Trigger, Mario World, DQV, FFVI, Kirby Superstar and Earthbound and many other rpgs and what not.

My favorites would be Wii and DS, although Gamecube and GBA are REALLY close second. Other systems I regard highly are the Dreamcast, Saturn, and snes.

Least favorites are the Ps1/ps2 and nes. They have HUGE librarys, but fun titles are far and few in between. I hate Sony controllers as well and the nes controller feels too small.

Don't mean to be 'that' guy? But isn't hating the PS2 like hating videogames themselves? I mean, I can understand the issues with the controller, but there's so many games on that system it's nearly its own medium all by itself.
