Donkey Kong 64 Box Question

Post by coastercrazy10 »

I'm at a point in my collecting where I want to get some games CIB and DK64 is high on my priority list. Looking on eBay I don't see any copies with an inlay tray so I'm wondering how the game and expansion pak are packaged within the box. Is this a game that has cardboard glued on the inside, or does it indeed come with some sort of inlay? I couldn't find any pictures so I was hoping someone on here has a copy and could fill me in?

I believe it is glued inside. I was just looking at my boxed star wars rouge squadron which came with an expansion pack. It had everything glued in.

Edit: I guess rouge squadron doesn't come with an expansion pak.. for some reason I thought it did. :?

Did ALL copies of DK64 come with the expansion pack? Were latter copies sold with out the expansion pack? If so, then maybe these are the copies that are missing the inlay. I haven't opened my DK64 box since the Christmas morning I got it, so I really don't remember. I kinda remember having to open one end to take the expansion pack out, then open the other end to take the cart out. The manual and other papers could be taken out from either end. Let me go see if the trunk I keep my boxes in is accessible right now. If so, I'll take some pics for you.

Nope, my trunks are completely blocked off right now. I'd have to move a ton of shit out of the way to get to them. :(

I would expect the Expansion Pak to be included with all copies, considering the game REQUIRED it to run.

Wish I could tell you though, my copy came in the N64 Jungle bundle.

Thanks for checking ziggy, don't worry about it! I am leaning towards the idea that it was glued in but if anybody can confirm still I would appreciate it!

Just as a matter of interest, my copy (PAL) is not glued in.

It came with an inlay which had been modified to house both the game and Expansion Pak.

I'll post a picture later if I can be bothered/ if anyone cares.
