Have you tried Magical Melody for Gamecube? It's closer to the old Harvest Moon's, but does have a little of it's own feel. Harvest moon is one of the series which still takes YEARS for each new game to reach europe after it comes out in the states. USA had rune factory 2 before we had the first i think.
