(Little Tip: If you release something for $249.99, we won't pay £229.99 over here... that equivalent to $372 you greedy little sods. Try £159.99 next time.)

But yeah, I'm aware that factory sealed is worth a lot more to collectors, I just didn't realise the difference was so big, so basically if its not sealed it loses most of it's value. That's daft. I intend to actually PLAY my games after all.

I've already been offered £35 (that's $57) for the copy of Final Fantasy VII I've got, but like I say, I'm not collecting for the cash, I'm doing it because I love the games.
Although worth is determined by other factors than literal exchange value, and £229 includes our 20% VAT whilst $249.99 doesn't include tax in the states. Its still nto exactly equal, but it's not as clear cut as all that.

True, but even if you add on 20% VAT, that's still only $300 not over $370. It just really irks me that games developers will often release consoles, add-ons etc. at the same price in £'s and they do in $'s not realising how rediculously unfair that is. Still, yeah, prices do vary a lot.

I'm gathering they don't have the platinum edition for PSOne in USA then? So what are the re-releases known as there?

If you happen to find Panzer Dragoon Saga for cheap don't buy it, it's awful.

It's just called 'greatest hits'

has a rather ugly green thing going on.

That's pretty crazy considering you can get a digital copy for peanuts.

Yeah, I know, some people will try and sell you any old rubbish. Like this guy who tries to sell a Japanese copy of Bangai-O saying it was a "rare collectable" for £50 all because it had some silly sticker on it. Sod that, I got my copy on eBay for £25 and it's in English... like I'd fall for the old "this sticker makes it rare" routine.

Iirc the digital release has kinda made the game tank in price. I haven't really looked in a while though.

Seriously though, if you want to start collecting check this websites:

mercadolibre.com
estarland.com
OBVIOUSLY ebay.com

Also, check the marketplace in this site, you should be able to find amazing games for dirt cheap.

It's still fairly expensive, I don't get it, it's not like it's rare, it's a GH title FFS.

It falls under the "They're everywhere but expensive for the hell of it" category.

Earthbound falls under this category as well.
