SM's Top 100 NES/Famicom games
Re: SM's Top 100 NES/Famicom games
I'm so happy you mentioned Princess Tomato in Salad Kingdom. One of my favorites.
Thanks everyone...

Eesh. Prototypes, homebrew... lucky you're not doing hacks and translations -- the sheer variety of games you've already covered is jaw-dropping.
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

I'm not a big fan of these either but he does mention some gems I wasn't aware existed, like that better version of Mario Bros.pakopako wrote:Eesh. Prototypes, homebrew... lucky you're not doing hacks and translations -- the sheer variety of games you've already covered is jaw-dropping.

Sweet. Also, check out my Air Fortress Review. It's really a great game. http://satoshimatrix.wordpress.com/2010 ... eview-nes/

Nice review of Air Fortress, the engrish intro of the game was... interesting
I'm picking this game up if I see it.
Thanks everyone...

While I'm between stupid and stupor. Satoshi!
[*]Yoshi’s Cookie -- "The NES build is excellent if you’re a fan of.." -- think you missed a sentence.
[*]You mentioned the updated 2011 Tecmo Super Bowl fan-hacks... that's follow-through. (Seriously though, fan-patches = time-killers.)
[*]Mendel Palace ... awesome!
[*]Though I dislike it, mad props for trying to go through Snake Rattle ‘n’ Roll
[*]Was the pirate Super Mario World an actual "ground-up" game?
[*]Adding to the empty "fun fact" section for Air Fortress -- HERO CORE. (Some Reviews) -- also, isn't it weird the English title screen still has the Kanji for "Space Fortress"?
[*]Those Metal Storm M-308 Gunner models looked like WARHAMMER custom jobs to me. Given the fact NP at the time had all these crafters creating their covers, wouldn't surprise me if they created the toy just to show off in their magazine.
[*]In the Magical Doropie section, note the Japanese game had continues and 1-ups. And a Mobile Phone release. (And Vic Tokai put forth plenty of NES games with better controls: Demonhead, Amagon, Bump-n-Jump...)
[*]In the MegaMan4 listing, my memory may be fuzzy, but I think MM1 allowed you to go back to old stages.. specifically so you could find the hidden Magnet Beam.
I think I've hit STUPID. Or was it STUPOR?

I used to own that game and loved it. For years, I suffered because I couldn't remember the name of the game and that drove me nutsSatoshi_Matrix wrote:Sweet. Also, check out my Air Fortress Review. It's really a great game. http://satoshimatrix.wordpress.com/2010 ... eview-nes/
