Kunio-kun coming to 3DS!

I'm a long-time Kunio-kun fan. Since before I even knew what it was. Renegade was one of my earliest NES games. Super Dodgeball was one of my favorite "party games". Rivercity Ransom blew my F'ing mind. And all that was just NES titles. Never mind what happened when I did the research and went on to explore the portable and import Kunio world. Personally, I've always been a bigger fan of Downtown than of Double Dragon, if I'm being totally honest. So this is exciting, at least for you 3DS owners:

Arc System Works has one other unannounced game on their Tokyo Game Show lineup. They’re working on a Kunio-kun title for the Nintendo 3DS. The game is listed as Hot Blooded Tough Guy Kunio-Kun (temporary title). That also happens to be the name for the arcade classic Renegade in Japan.

Since all we have is a name it’s not clear if this is a new Renegade game or Kunio-kun series title. After Technos closed their doors, Million acquired the rights to Double Dragon and Kunio-kun. Instead of making beat ‘em ups, the new Kunio-kun games have been sports challenges, which Aksys brought to North America. Would be interesting if this game goes back to the series’ fist in your face roots.

nope. I love me some Kunio, but here's the thing. I realized today that I have enough store credit to get a brand new 3DS and like 3 games. And I still wasn't interested. It would be like... free for me y'know? No $ out of my pocket. And I just don't see myself playing the damn thing. So I'll have to pass.

I am interested in it. I'm just not interested in buying the hardware in runs on. It's an awesome series, and it's nice when people start new threads about interesting games. Also because... I think Kunio-kun 3DS will be better than Call of Duty.
