for $17k? that kinda sounds like a bad deal, unless all you have are super, super valuable games with no filler whatsoever.CD AGES wrote:I could see my self selling it for 17 grand and I think that's a price that could not be argued by potential seller (I think). They'd be getting over 100 DC titles, 3 Dozen Saturn games, about 100 PS1 as well as PS2 games. I don't even wanna get into hardware LOL!

I hear you, and I used to think like this for a good while, but it's not the memories that you're selling.Xeogred wrote:I don't want to sell 10-20 years worth of memories, heh.

17 grand? Seems a bit high...I don't know what the games for the other systems are, but all 36 of those Saturn games better be Panzer Dragoon Saga...CD AGES wrote:I could see my self selling it for 17 grand and I think that's a price that could not be argued by potential seller (I think). Re: Let's Say Someone Wants To Buy Your Entire Game Collection..
Too many things I would never be able to find again to even consider selling my collection.
Just thinking about my Dreamcast collection alone, from the top of my head: boxed ParaPara controllers and games, Flintstones whitelabel, S.T.A.R.S. Dreamcast, Seaman promo tin, Space Channel 5 fridge magnets, Official Dreamcast magazine complete run, sealed Pal Evolution 2, inflatable morolians...
I still regret selling my boxed SNES games years ago, and I can still kick myself for throwing away my old Nintendo Club magazines years ago. (what the fuck was I thinking!?)
So I'll die before I sell my collection ever again. I learned my lesson...

Dude, I'm pretty pissed about somehow losing a lot of magazines myself. I had tons of great Nintendo Power issues, some had old guides on like DKC1-3, and one of my absolute favorites was the first one about Zelda OoT that had all those beta screens with the gold knight, the huge village, blood, and tons of stuff we never saw in the real release. That's the one I miss most.
I never sold these or anything, just simply lost them or something. Guess that happens when your family moves 10+ times.

Well, I met someone on a flea market this summer that still has all of those Nintendo Club magazines. He didn't want to part with them just yet, out of nostalgia. He thinks he will regret if he does (of course he will, lol). But I'm hoping he'll budge next year...Xeogred wrote:Dude, I'm pretty pissed about somehow losing a lot of magazines myself. I'll just start whining until he gets it over with if he doesn't...
And once I get my sticky paws on them I'll never let go again. Muhahahahàààà !!!

I've been considering selling all (well, most) of my collection to fund my arcade venture. If I were to sell all that I currently own, $50 grand. Granted, I'm sure my collection isn't worth that much in total, but the only reason I would sell all of it would be to invest it in my arcade.

How is the arcade thing going anyhow? How many cabinets do you have stashed away at this point?the7k wrote:I've been considering selling all (well, most) of my collection to fund my arcade venture. I've got about 10 cabinets at this point, and I've got a 'testing ground' in a way. It's a place my friends will be renting out for a screen print store, and they are letting me run arcades in it when they get ready for business. They are currently renting half the place, the other half belongs to a motorcycle shop which will be vacating in April of next year. If the arcades do well, I'll rent the other half of the store and turn it into an arcade (after completing the zoning process and all that garbage). If the arcades don't do well in that location, then I'll build elsewhere.dedalusdedalus wrote: How is the arcade thing going anyhow? How many cabinets do you have stashed away at this point?

Re: Let's Say Someone Wants To Buy Your Entire Game Collection..
Some of you might not remember but I posted something about value of my collection:
http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 40#p451140
And I'm to the point where I'm going to sell about 95% of my collection later this year. And I've come up with a number too.
For me it's not about the memories as it was the hunt. And I don't mind starting all over again even if it might cost me a little more down the road. Hopefully, by then, I'll be a millionaire and what's money at that point.
