Let's Say Someone Wants To Buy Your Entire Game Collection..

Post by Weekend_Warrior »

What would be the absolute lowest price you could go, yet high enough in price to where you could still sleep comfortably knowing everything you had, once searched for, and/or got lucky in finding is now gone?

*Note* This is for ALL your games and systems. This includes boxes with manuals, arcade games, handhelds, collector's editions, and all available controllers and game accessories.

Myself, $6,000 would be a nice gesture since it could clear up all of my debt. But I think in order to sleep comfortably at night I would need to ask for at least $8,000. I don't have a real huge collection with much rare stuff, but $8,000 could clear up the rest of my debt and at the same time allow me to buy a brand new PS2 (my all-time fav. system) and an Xbox 360 so that I could start collecting all over again. :)

The entire collection? $50,000. I have good & rare stuff but perhaps not the value of that. But for the time I put in looking for stuff, prices paid, and that a lot of it is sentimental, I wouldn't part with it for less. Then again, I wouldn't part with it ever.

I would say no sale. I've put ALOT of effort into my collection and I'm too proud of it to part w/ it for ANY price.
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

Wouldn't it be possible to just get rid of the bits you don't want and still keep a pretty sizeable collection? I've never met an ex-collector who hasn't at many points regretted letting go of their hard-crafted collection.

$2,000. It's worth more than that, but it's the least I could ever let it go for if I absolutely had to sell.

My collection is worth more to me in fun and nostalgia than the actual dollar value it would fetch on eBay or craigslist. I just don't have anything super-valuable in my collection. Maybe my most expensive game is $50. I doubt the whole thing is even worth $1000 and even if I got that much I'd really miss it.
