Nope. I never do. I only apply it to flying games, of which I have one. Otherwise, I want it non inverted. Feels cleaner.

I prefer non-inverted; only in Timesplitters will I tolerate inverted y-axis.

^ So how many of hours did you guys spend playing Goldeneye (N64) for? Zero?

I really don't play many FPS's anymore, but it seems to me like they use to be (almost always) inverted by default. And it seems like a lot of newer FPS's are non-inverted by default. Is this real, or is it just me?

this. I think I like the inversion of controls due to growing up with a joystick and playing numerous flight sims before an FPS ever existed.

I like an inverted camera or control, a carry over from flight simulation. I like playing Rez pushing up the stick to push the gunsight down. But with a mouse I switch it back to normal mode.

Inverted controls feel natural because it mimics the movement of your head as it pushes forward to look down and pulls back to look up. When they incorporate head and eye tracking controls in CoD maybe my aim will improve.

I play inverted on consoles and controllers.

I play normal on the PC with a mouse.

Yeah, don't ask.

I'm more comfortable with inverted, as well. That's because I played a whole lot of Descent before I played other FPS, and that has flight-controls which are inverted. They can be changed, but I just played it on default controls. Because of that, it's the only way I can play FPS today.

I can work with both inverted and normal, after a brief period of adjustment, but I prefer normal controls. I want the camera to go up when I press up, and down when I press down. Also, I demand a button that will immediately center the camera.

I hate it when L and R camera controls are set to the shoulder buttons, though. Especially if it's a game that requires fast response like an action rpg or platformer.

It depends on if it's a third person shooter or a third person action. With a third person shooter I want the camera to control like a regular FPS, but I can see my dude instead of just the gun. But if it's an action game I want the camera controls to control the camera which is always pointed at my character, so right should go around the character to the right, and up should cause the camera to travel over the character.
