SNES region mod, flickers at 60hz with CIC on
SNES region mod, flickers at 60hz with CIC on
I just modified my NTSC SNES using mmmmonkey's guide with a CIC switch and a 50/60hz switch. I am able to run PAL games with the CIC off booting in 50hz it flickers. I then switch to 60hz and its fine. I can also boot NTSC games with the CIC off in 60hz and everything works fine. The problem occurs if I want to play a game in 60hz with the CIC on. If the CIC is on the screen begins to flicker faster. If I flip the CIC chip off its okay. I can flip the CIC chip off in mid game, but not back on. I flip the 50/60hz switch to 50 hz I get the formal 50hz flicker. This is problematic if I want to play my copy of Super Mario RPG NTSC which requires the CIC be on, as the game boots but just flickers very rapidly. If I start messing around with the case or touching the switches the picture sometimes stabilizes, so I'm not sure if its a grounding issue or something. Any ideas?

Check out the connections for the CIC, particularly the 5v connections. Also, make sure there are no shorts.
