I have the last gen 360 before they started making Slims. These are also much more reliable. I haven't gotten Red Ring yet, but I do want a slim, just to be safe.BoringSupreez wrote: 360: Don't you dare, unless it's a slim. All non-slims WILL die on you one day, most likely soon.

Re: Buying Used Current Gen. Consoles
If I got a 360 I would need a slim since my internet modem/router is in the basement so wireless is a must.
I think I want a PS3 because both have similar retro related DLC and the blueray would be good for our family since we have been DVDless on the HDTV since our DVD player broke 2+ years ago.
I think I may do new from estarland... unless anyone else has opinions to share.

I think you should do this. A) You'll be buying New so no real concerns, B) you'll be trading in shit and using paypal, so not spending $ you don't have, and C) eStarland is super trustworthy.SpaceBooger wrote:If I got a 360 I would need a slim since my internet modem/router is in the basement so wireless is a must.

I wouldn't use any game console for watching movies, unnecessary wear and tear. A standalone player is cheaper, throw the rentals in there. I wonder how much unseen microscopic damage are on rental discs? Flexing from being pried off the rigid center holders of the case?SpaceBooger wrote:If I got a 360 I would need a slim since my internet modem/router is in the basement so wireless is a must.

I think he's coming from the angle that he needs to buy a Blu-Ray player. He's not going to buy a BR player AND a console. But if he can get a console BECAUSE he needs a BR player than good on him.CRTGAMER wrote:I wouldn't use any game console for watching movies, unnecessary wear and tear. I watch blu rays on my ps3 far more often than I actually play games on it.

Re: Buying Used Current Gen. Consoles
I had my 360 for 3 years before it red-ringed. It was super easy to fix, only took about an hour. Cost less than $20 too. I've put at least 50 hours on it since then, no problems so far.The Last Horseman wrote:I have the last gen 360 before they started making Slims. These are also much more reliable. Myself, because I'm poor. It was mentioned at the beginning of the thread that a lot of people suggest just saving for a new one and the OP didn't have that option.noiseredux wrote:who are you directing that at?BurningDoom wrote:lol, all you rich people are funny.
