Problem with Gameboy Advance.

Post by ATARI800XLfan »

Hello. I have recently acquired a Gameboy Advance with a Afterburner kit installed for 20 dollars from a Local vintage game store. The only problem is after playing it for a while I have noticed that For some reason it will not play certain games. I have tried rayman 3 which only gets to the language screen before it freezes. I have tried multiply copies and have tried them on a DS which they worked fine on. I have also noticed that on Advance wars 2 some of the unit sprits are missing during battles. I am wondering what could the problem be and if I should take the system back in and just spend the extra money and get a Advance SP or just deal with a few games not working correctly. I believe the local stores charge 35-40 dollars for a SP. Would any one you happen to know what could be possible wrong with the system. Thanks for your time.

This is what I reccommend as well. Try to get the AGS-101 model of SP, it has a much better screen than the Afterburner kit or the regular SP will give you.

Ahhh Your GBA motherboard may be the problem. When I mod Gameboy Colors sometimes my boards just die in the process. I suggest buying another GBA and just swap the board out.

That's the risk of using non-first party materials, as you never have a guarantee of the stuff ever working properly.

The safe bet may have to be getting the SP AGS-101 model, the SP is good to handle, but I do like the feel on the old GBA better.
