80's nostalgia and the inevitable impending 90's nostalgia

Wow, and the only things in that list that I like is PS2 and superhero movies. I've never been a fan of rap. DS is okay, but I play my GBA a lot more. I can't stand Spongebob Squarepants. And I understand that MP3s are infinitely more convenient, but I feel that they ruined so many great aspects of the music industry at the same time.

...yeah, let's bring on that 90s nostalgia already.

What I miss about the 90s are the dial-up Bulletin Board Systems, back in the days when Internet access is still not commercially viable in my country. Downloading a single mp3 takes up the entire login time I was allowed per day, and it was also the first time I had access to the shareware version of Doom. It was like an explosion of gaming goodness going off inside my head.

Also, the BBSes introduced me to emulation, I had a lot of fun with nesticle and Kgen back in the day, even though accuracy was still not that prioritized.

Two of the radio stations in my area are already running with 90s nostalgia. Both play an hour of 90s music at noon. One of them even expanded it to include 90s and early 2000s music. As much as I hate to say it, I'm becoming a huge sucker for 90s nostalgia.

Hear me now and listen to me later: Acid wash jeans and gigantic cell phones are due for a comeback. And whether you like it or not, so will boy bands. And hopefully SNL will be funny again.

Fashion and pop music have always been cyclical. "Distressed jeans" aren't that different from the ripped jeans all the "cool" people wore 15-20 years ago. Hell, even Member's Only Jackets made a comeback.
