This is dishonest, and sounds very illegal. I am planning to buy Deus Ex HR, but I'm going to make sure to get it at Walmart or Bestbuy or Amazon instead.

Any opened new game
I am amazed on all the drones that buy any opened new games at Gamestop. Especially with all the DRM, DLC and Steamy crap locking the game back to the developers site. Why would anyone risk a game not authenticating because it may have been play tested by an employee?
Say can this be merged with the Is Gamestop Evil Thread?

They could easily have reshrunk the case. While I can't speak to the packaging of the Augmented Edition, the standard release has a cardboard slip cover on it. If they weren't looking closely at top/bottom edge it'd be pretty easy to overlook. Especially if the store had copies behind the counter (preorders or whatnot).CRTGAMER wrote:Any opened new game

Don't forget to Google the term "GameStop New" -- also keep in mind that "GameStop New" games are non-returnable, non-refundable, and hey, it looks like you opened that game!o.pwuaioc wrote:This. That sounds all sorts of illegal. Also, who would be stupid enough to buy a defective product from GameStop? It's not like they have a monopoly on games.noiseredux wrote:I don't see how that would be legal.
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

Facepalm, fail, etc. I don’t know if the company is as evil as people seem to think (I mean, sheesh, it’s a business), but that certainly seems head-scratching.

Looks like more "power to the players"

That is pretty damn hilarious about them stripping those DXHR coupons from their boxes.
That said, just like my reaction to the other Gamestop thread... all I can care to do is shrug and not give two shits, haven't shopped in Gamestop for years, and that's never going to change.

You can't open up a product, remove contents, then sell it as "new". Some one needs to do something to better protect consumers. That's like a super market opening up cereal boxes and removing the toy inside because they want you to buy their toys instead. That's like a car part store removing the grease/lube packet from a part because they want you to buy their own.
