If your ever going to be selling a collection of video games in bulk on craigslist forget about it. I'm trying to 65 games, games like conkers, paper mario, majoras mask and other rare titles but its just absurd. I keep getting emails like "I'll give you $5 for conkers bad fur day with the original box I can come pick it up tonight." or my favorite one yet "I'll give you $25 to take all your games off your hands. -soccerplaayer008"
My question to all you people here at racketboy is, have you ever encountered such terrible low balls?
My N64 and craigslist, failed cause
Re: My N64 and craigslist, failed cause
i gave you advice from my personal experience in your other thread man a bunch of other people did too you should have listened!

I think he kind of did if he was getting offers for Conker's CIB. But a BST thread here is the best way to get rid of rarities ;)ac_90 wrote:i gave you advice from my personal experience in your other thread man a bunch of other people did too you should have listened!
As far as lowballs, some people are just unaware enough not to know that Conker's CIB is worth a lot more than $5.
Re: My N64 and craigslist, failed cause
Only problem with the BST here is the trust issue. People who have lingered and read many threads but haven't registered have little chance of actually selling here on racketboy. You need a large reputation it seems.o.pwuaioc wrote:I think he kind of did if he was getting offers for Conker's CIB. Depends. Trust is an issue, but that's why we encourage getting active and getting to know us before selling everything.Xeoloux wrote:Only problem with the BST here is the trust issue. Meh, it's Craigslist. Not ebay, gaming store, or b/s/t forums. You're going to get a lot of that, because that's what Craigslist is for.Xeoloux wrote:If your ever going to be selling a collection of video games in bulk on craigslist forget about it. Also, how is it listed? If you listed all the titles and conditions and gave a price obo, that's one thing. But you could also be one of those ads that are like "N64 with 65 games including Mario, Conker, Zelda, and a lot of others. Make me an offer!" then I would probably low ball you too simply because I don't know what all you have.

Re: My N64 and craigslist, failed cause
I tried to sell my Atari collection with 35 games & the console with hook-ups, 2 Joysticks and the Paddle Controllers, and even an official Atari Video Game Organizer to hold it all. I kept getting $10-$20 offers to. It's frustrating. But if you keep posting it with your set price, somebody will take you up on it. It took 3 different tries, but I did end up getting $50 for it all.

That's generally how it is. If anyone is interested in buying a BUNCH of N64 stuff let me know in a private message since selling it all in 1 go is easier then going to the post every other day. Thanks for the replies guys I really appreciate it. On the bright side I got a NES and castlevania 2 at a rummage 2 days ago.BurningDoom wrote:I tried to sell my Atari collection with 35 games & the console with hook-ups, 2 Joysticks and the Paddle Controllers, and even an official Atari Video Game Organizer to hold it all. Re: My N64 and craigslist, failed cause
I had the same problem with Craigslist. The low ball offers were just stupid and it was really annoying me.
I don't remember the exact details but I was trying to sell a bunch of games, and I had a very fair price on my ad. Something like 30 Super Famicom carts for $30. All I got were ridiculous low ball offers for like $5 and $10.
Totally fed up, I had an idea to raise my price to $60. Of course, I still got tons of low ball offers, but this time they were actually fair prices. I ended up selling it for about $30 in the end.
So now anytime I list something on Craigslist, I will set the price to be about double what I actually want for it. It sucks that I have to do it this way, but that's how Craigslist works, I guess.

Re: My N64 and craigslist, failed cause
I can admit I am a low baller if its not something I really want badly. I figure that the worse they can say is no, or not respond. But I've gotten a lot of stuff shockingly cheap using this method. You have to see it from both sides, they want it as cheap as possible, you want it as expensive as possible. If you don't like their offers just ignore it. But never list something for the price you expect to get for it. Its assumed all prices are negotiable on craigslist. Even prices listed as firm are often negotiable. Sometimes all a person wants is the feeling they didn't pay full asking price, even if that price is what you wanted for it.
