seriously lol, its one of those websites where you look away and can see the text for 30 seconds.
Totally 1990s, AOL/dial-up generation style web page. It's like looking at a site on the way back machine or web archive.
 (FC, AVFC, NES, SFC x2, SNES, N64, GC x2, Wii x2)*(G&W x7, GB, GBpocket, GBASP, DS-L x2)
(GEN, SS x3, DC x3)*(PCE-Duo)*(Xbox:500GB)*(NGCDZ, NGPC)*(PS1, PStwo, PS3:160GB, PSP.3K)

How can a historian accurately reconstruct the development and growth of video/computer games in the late-70s and early-80s if no one knows release dates for even major releases (not saying that Ms. Pac-Man has an unknown release date, but I've yet to find it).
Well that's a particularly tricky example you chose too since Ms Pac Man was originally an enhanced hack called Evil Otto that was pitched to Midway. They took it, changed it a bit and it became Ms Pac Man. It wasn't actually developed by Namco.

Don't you mean Crazy Otto? Evil Otto is from Berzerk. But even ignoring the original development by Gen. Comp. Corp., I still don't know when the official release date of Ms. Pac-Man was. I would have thought someone would have gone through records and sorted these things out. I guess the world needs more contemporary cultural historians.

Yeah sorry, Crazy. Unless someone's for some accounting sheet showing they shipped machine numbers 1 & 2 to Joe Bob's arcade or something, I bet a lot of that information is gone. People probably didn't think that was import information to keep after so many years or when a company moved to bigger offices. There were probably only a handful of records to begin with showing game X passed QA, boards were finished, or the first batch shipped out on whatever date. So you end up with only a vague idea because of a copyright year on a game board or whatnot.
