I wouldn't say it was my favorite, but it was definitely enjoyable. I avoided it so long more for the fact that it was a Lupin movie rather than anything else. I like Lupin, it's just not one of my favorite series, but I figured if it since it was from Miyazaki and in movie form it would probably be far more tolerable. I really have no complaints other than I like some of his other films, like Nausicaa, better. And the only film of his that I've ever watched again and again since I was 8, and can still watch again and again to this day, is Totoro.

I remember when I was in summer day care when I was 8. It was a mixed group of kids between the ages of 5-13. We were split up by age group and did a lot of different activities during the day, but at the end of the day the councilors would round us all up and sit us down to watch a movie (probably to calm us down a bit before the parents came to get us).

As they started to run out of movies all the kids were told that they could bring in one of their favorite movies to share (G rated, of course

). I was currently obsessed with Totoro at the time, so naturally I brought in my VHS. You could tell when we all sat down that the older kids DID NOT want to watch it. They were seething with distaste. They did not want to sit down and watch a cartoon (I blame it on the unavoidable onslaught of impending teenage cynicism). We were about 30 minutes in before my mom came early to pick me up and so we left the tape there knowing that we could pick it up the next day. When we got there the next day the councilor for the older kids walked up and asked if it would be okay to watch the tape again that afternoon since everyone wanted to see it again. Not a single face was grim when we sat down that afternoon so everyone could watch the exact same movie they'd seen the day before. So there you have it. Miyazaki movies touch even the most elitist of young teenagers hearts.

Zack Snyder's SUPERMAN is shaping up quite nicely. I'm still anxious that there will be too many slow-mo to super-speed shots, but you kind of have to expect that from Snyder. Definitely a new story at that too of the Man of Steel.

The original Fright Night. Totally average 80s movie. I can't believe they're remaking it.

OMG. I can't believe they're remaking it either. But I can't believe because it's an awesome movie that doesn't need to be improved upon. To each his own though. All those super hero movies you guys are into tend to bore me to tears.

It's already been remade. Hell, it's already out in theaters.

The remake is actually well done, but I prefer the shitty 80's original. Seeing Prince Humperdink killing and having his way with any woman is great for a laugh. Plus, as a bonus you get to see a boob and one of the greatest wolf to man transformations.

Considering that this movie is now almost a full 2 years away, I can't believe we're getting set photos and publicity stills released from the studio already.

The studio released a brief synopsis of the movie, which made it sound like a total retread. Origin story, zod, etc. But early on Nolan said when he heard the idea it was so different he had to make it. So there has to be something to it that they're not revealing yet. Which at this point, I can understand why. Maybe superman gets effected by a certain type of kryptonite that makes it so he can only remember things for 5 minutes at a time.
