3ds sd cards

3ds sd cards
So the 3ds came with a 2gb sd card. am i able to put a bigger on in it? or is 2gb the max? i cant find anywhere saying that i can. Cant try it because i dont have any sd cards 0-o

The Nintendo 3DS is compatible with SD cards up to 2GB in size, and SDHC cards of 4GB and larger.

Pretty much. Just the family name (and protocol) they give the cards sized between 4GB - 32GB.
SD is not meant to be bigger than 2GB, but its fairly common to see 4GB cards.

It's just a newer version of the SD format that uses sector addressing instead of byte addressing, so that it's possible for devices to support larger capacity cards. Most cards you can buy right now would be SDHC, even if it's 4GB or below.

i want to get a larger one, any brands that are better or ones i should stay away from. The 3ds came with a scandisk. should i just stick with those?
