Very likely... I have never soldered anything and for me, that would be the harder route than adapters/cables. If you're capable, by all means, go for it.pakopako wrote:Would it be easier to make a DSub-to-Component converter by soldering wires into the D-terminal of the DOL-009? Either way, with the adapter & M~M cable it's still cheaper (to buy a DOL-009) than what ebay has for the GC component cable (but then you also gotta figure in the dollar to yen is bad right now and then shipping to the states).
Would it be easier than the component-to-VGA hack? (Which I think required installing a 1k resistor onto the processor chip at the other end. -- Oops, [url=http://nfggames.com/forum2/index.php?topic=3497.0]10k; optional.)

(Dammit, and I was awake when I made that horribly edited post)
I suppose this is a general question then -- any reason I would need anything else other than 18-gauge wires and some female RCA jacks to test out which pins are ground and signal for the three YPbPr video?

My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

This might be a good thing to start soldering with. Wires are fairly easy to solder, and pretty forgiving if you mess up. Soldering Irons can be had cheap until you get the feel for it. My first iron was $6.

Yeah I will one day with my Saturn modchip but not with cables since I already have found component GC cables very cheap.Jamisonia wrote:This might be a good thing to start soldering with.
