Didn't you see the warning not to let this thread go south? (Yes, I think that's funny. Deal with it.)The Last Horseman wrote:I also am aggrivated with biased books in schools right now, like ones that always make the Confedracy out as the bad guys, and make it seem as if the North didn't have any racism. So wait, the reason you dislike MLP is because it is popular?yomomma1 wrote:MLP and Invader Zim. The former has died down alot, but MLP is everywhere. It is good to be enthusiastic about what you like, I guess, but the MLP fanbase (excluding 5 year old girls) is a whole different monster.

There's popular, and there's "shoved in your face constantly." The first is easily ignored if you aren't into it. The latter gets old really fast, and tends to make people hate whetever it is the fans are trying to force everyone to like.lisalover1 wrote:So wait, the reason you dislike MLP is because it is popular?
Re: The worst fanbases
I got a question for all of you Star Wars nerds (no offense!
).
I recently sold a copy of Super Star Wars on SNES to another member. When I popped the game in to my SNES to test it, I watched the story scroll, and it referred to itself as Episode IV.
The prequel movies didn't come out until many years later, so this confused the hell out of me.
I'm not a Star Wars fan, so I don't know what the fans might have been aware of compared to the people working on the series. Any explanation for this?

If I understand correctly that was changed for the 1980 theatrical reissue. The original 1977 version is not numbered.CFFJR wrote:IWhen I popped the game in to my SNES to test it, I watched the story scroll, and it referred to itself as Episode IV.

I just read it.

Are you saying they were planning the prequels that far back?

Twilight and Naruto fanboys, no question.
Why did Kevin Flynn blare Journey so loud in his arcade? Was he trying to hear it from the grid?

Re: The worst fanbases
I stopped posting ponies here outside the official pony thread. I haven't seen them posted gratuitously for a while on Racketboy. So, what do you mean for it to be shoved down your throat? If you answer, be aware that passive instances where you find ponies online do not count (User avatars, web pages that you know contain ponies where it is your own choice to view them, etc.); only when someone specifically spams them. This topic has come up on Ponychan a lot lately. We know that many people don't care for ponies, so we are working on toning it down a bit as a community effort. What we will NOT stop doing however, is expressing our love for the show. We have every right to say that we are fans; no one can tell us what we can and cannot like.flamepanther wrote:There's popular, and there's "shoved in your face constantly." Raises hand! I was a huge Jhonen Vasquez fan because of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac and Squee. I was buying those as they came out, so I naturally watched Invader Zim as it came out as well. The Last Horseman wrote:One example of the latter would be current Invader Zim fans. I don't know anybody other than myself IRL who actually watched it when it first came out.
I never liked it as much because it wasn't as edgey as Jhonen's comics, but I enjoyed a few seasons worth of Zim. Then it vomited itself along the walls of Hot Topic and I got tired of seeing Gir everywhere. Meh.

Yes. Or at least, the idea that there is a story that they want to tell that comes before A New Hope.CFFJR wrote:Are you saying they were planning the prequels that far back?
