Mac powerbook g4 pros and cons ????

Yep, the PPC macintoshes are pretty redundant now. Unless there some obscure piece of software that never got an x86/x64 port, there isn't much reason to have one.

That would be Morphos. It's a modern fork of Amiga OS. But it doesn't run on Powerbooks, just Powermacs. G4 systems make great OS9 machines too. Overall, you're right. If you want a modern computing experience there's no point in a G4. They're excellent systems from a retrocomputing standpoint though.

Once you get used to OS X you'll never look back. It is superior to Windows in every single way as far as productivity and usability goes.

Which is not a high bar to pass. Just the inclusion of a UNIX command line puts it head and shoulders above Windows.

Other than a handful of things like including RAW image previews in the Finder, OS X really doesn't do much better/worse than Windows for creative/productive purposes. Just different. Most apps are similar regardless. Or as XKCD puts it...

The big one for me is that shortcuts are ubiquitous. What does one thing in one app, does the same thing in another. Everything is in the same place on EVERY app. You don't get lost looking for stuff like you do on Windows.

Let's not turn this into a mac vs pc war though.
