Wii motion plus question

Post by Soldier Blue »

Well I just bought a new Wii motion plus off of ebay that the seller assured me was an official one by nintendo, but it seems cheaply made.

There is no Nintendo trademark on the large part of the motion plus and on the bottom it says "made in China" :(
On the opposite side of this it says "Nintendo" and then "Wii" Also, the connector port seems to wiggle around a bit.

It should say made in Japan right?? Any one have one to compare?

Mine says made in China as well and it is from the Redsteel 2 bundle. Don't worry, it is official.

It COULD be a fake. If the seller was from China or Hong Kong I would be suspicious.

Cheaply made? Wiggle? Looks suspect? Sounds like the Wii Motion Plus to me!

Just my first impressions I guess. Nintendo doesn't quite make 'em like they used to.

If it doesn't have tri-wing screws then it's definitely fake.

The wiggly connector is intentionally designed so it's easier to get on and off with the wii-remote condom on. Seriously what is the point of that thing?

Protection.

Seriously, the whole reason they came out with them is because the Wii Remote is so smooth and slippery that with a little bit of sweat, the thing slides right out of your hands. More so while you're flailing it around than anything else. It gives a grip so it doesn't fall out of your hand, and the wrist strap prevents you from chucking it inadvertently should that happen. (..and it did, in the beginning of the Wii lifespan.)

Nobody wants this to happen to their TV:

That pic is painful.

When I bought the Red Steel 2 Bundle, it came with the sleeve and a Motion Plus bottom attachment add on for the older Remote. At first I thought then sleeve was cool, resembling feel of the hilt of the Sword in the game. But the Remote just feels better without that sleeve. The sleeve also a pain when one has to change batteries, I prefer alkalines over a chargeable arrangement. I hate the wrist strap, removed it without cutting anything.

I have a couple of questions concerning the Motion Plus.

1. How to remove the plastic port cover string assembly without cutting the string? Anyone ever take a motion plus attachment apart?

2. Do Japanese Remotes with built in motion plus sync to U.S consoles?
