It does seem to be particularly bad here. And, the rare times I see someone with something of value asking fair price, no one seems to follow through. I've had maybe one person email me back the ten or fifteen times I've attempted business through that foul place.
I had this episode DVR'd and got around to watching it last night. At least the NES had the original packing (no box). I wish someone would have done research to clarify what the $13,000 auction was (ala Pawn Stars) as the guy running the game store was clueless also.

I talked to him the next day, and he had opened all the games and the system, played them, and threw away the boxes. I literally have not speaken to him since. Now I know how bad it is, I feel even worse. He said he would cut me in on the mone for helping him out to.
That's just horrible, why would he do that?!
Maybe he figured that he would rather play the games. Not everyone is out for money.

Even if that were the case, throwing away the boxes was still stupid.
