Check those videos I linked -- there's no way anyone could say that the GBA version trumped the SNES version.noiseredux wrote:irixith wrote: Who mentioned the Donkey Kong Country series? The GBA ports are fucking awful.
I did. I didn't think they were fucking awful.

I didn't say it trumped it. I said it was "a great port."irixith wrote: Check those videos I linked -- there's no way anyone could say that the GBA version trumped the SNES version.

Kid Icarus
The GB... port? Sequel? Rehash? Gave you complete scrolling (and hovering), so no more of that "dropping to your death" during vertical stages. (It also removed the "looping effect" due to screen width restraints so you'll have to notice that loop yourself.)

NES Classics: Xevious (GBA) > Xevious (NES)
But that's only because it's portable.

If we're going by that logic than every game in the entire NES Classics series trumps it's console counterpart.Nintendork666 wrote:NES Classics: Xevious (GBA) > Xevious (NES)

I liked the SNES ports I played on the GBA. I didn't play the originals growing up and I first played them on the GBA. I think some of the added features for the Mario games such as being able to save after each level and stuff makes it better for me than slightly downgraded music and annoying voices. And the changes in the Ice Palace in LTTP were made for the better IMO.
