absolutely NOT! I've been waiting decades for it to pick up and gain acceptance. I've been gaming in 3D on my PC for the better part of ten years, and I can't express how much it adds to the experience. In some cases, it improves gameplay significantly. For example, 3D platform games are much less frustrating when they are actually 3D and you can accurately judge distances. I played Rayman 2 in 3D back in the day, and it made a great game even more enjoyable. I'm glad to see it's one of the games available for 3DS.

If you don't like the 3D, just turn it off. Don't wish things were ruined for the people who like it.

How did you get Rayman 2 in 3D ten years ago? A fan-made mod or something? And where did you get a 3D monitor ten years ago?

Presumably red/blue or shutter glasses.

Mechwarrior 2 supports VR goggles. Tilting your head is mapped to head look in game.

I had wrappers for Direct3D and OpenGL that could set almost any Windows game into 3D mode, and a pair of liquid crystal shutter glasses. Not long after that, nVidia started supporting native 3D in their graphics drivers. They still do, so I keep using their hardware.
