So with the lovely heat that's going on around here, I'm needing a new ventilated chair. Most that I'm finding are only a mesh back, not a mesh seat as well. I've found these 2 on Amazon, though spending ~$200 without being able to try it out isn't really thrilling me that much.





Does anyone have any experience with either of them or does anyone have any other suggestions? My requirements are that the seat bottom and back are both mesh to breathe, and the arms are self contained like these 2 chairs and do not hold the back on. I will not be attaching the arms as I hate ramming them into the desk all the time and like to be able to slide out of my chair sideways.

Generally when my chair needs ventilating, I do it organically, with my backside. No need to buy a pre-ventilated one.

I may be mistaken, but I believe that some of the people I work with have all-mesh chairs in their offices, and I spent a good deal of time over their building the last couple of summers. If I make it over there today, I'll check which brand they have, because I remember liking the chair pretty well.

I have this chair in my office and love it. Very breathable, comfortable, durable, great lumbar support, and having a head rest helps too. And yeah, it does have arms, but they are adjustable and haven't caused me any problems; but sounds like it could be a deal breaker for you.

The arms don't hold up the back, so they should be removable without affecting anything, but the bottom isn't mesh which is what I'm after most. That's what I keep seeing in stores, ones with a mesh back, but still a solid bottom. Thanks for the suggestion though.

The bottom is mesh, with a cushion. It's very breathable.

But I hope you find a chair you like soon; you'll spend more time in your chair at work than probably anywhere else.

Hmm, it looked pretty solid still to me. I want something airy enough that I can partially see through it. But I can make sure to try and hit a Staples and look in person.

I already spend more time in my desk chair than anywhere else, thus my need for a new one that breathes better.

You can definitely NOT see through the bottom cushion on my chair, so don't waste time on a trip to Staples.

That said, I love my chair. I might look like I'm in a wheelchair, but this thing is com-for-table.

Those ventilated chairs aren't comfortable at all.
