I don't think it is. They just licensed Tetris to EA to develop games on some platforms.

I like that article. I have some of the same gripes, especially deciding what platform to buy some games on - Wonder Boy in Monster World or Dynastic Hero?
I think all of the extras you mentioned would make the service better. I really cant believe that they don't sell the superior port and when they do sell an import they add 100 extra points to the price... like it took that much time and effort to dump a foreign rom.
My biggest complaint is the release schedule. It's not like they are going to sell more of "Game X" by making people wait until a certain date. All of the games should have been made available at the beginning.

Ah. Anyways, it's a moot point anyway because Tetris Party Live is available via the DSiWare part of the eShop and you can get Tetris DS (arguably the finest Tetris game ever made) on the DS. I know what I'd rather have...

I was pretty stoked to see some R2 releases finally make their way to the US via the Virtual Console, but that was a hilarious dream. Overall the VC store is definitely one of the most underwhelming things to me this gen. "Here's games you probably already own!" Cool.

Wasted potential. If there's fan translations going on for a bunch of roms still thesedays, the market and interest is there as small as it might be.

Oh well, just handed us another ticket to emulate more!

VC rarely puts out any games I want to buy...

...which is GREAT because it means I can spend all my Nintendo points on WiiWare.

Adding classic NES chararcters and songs to the mix sounded like a great idea, but I was sick of it after about a half hour.

Infinite rotation.

There are many more flaws (mainly because of the mandatory use of the SRS) but that alone breaks the game completely and makes it pointless.
